Welcome!
I'm Frugal Trenches (no, not my real name!) a lover of natural, simple and frugal living! I use this space and my camera to document a beautiful, purposeful, downshifted and abundant life! Life is not always simple (oh how I wish it was!) but it is always rich and I hope this space demonstrates beauty and joy!
If you have a question, feel free to leave it in the comments! I read and appreciate every comment and will reply to questions within the comment section, even if it takes a day or two (or three, but whose counting!).

Friday Night Thoughts…
I have a million thoughts swirling in my head. Thoughts about the inequities that exist (the garment workers (and industry) are never far from my mind), and all these thoughts brought me to a place of needing to write. Tonight, … Continue reading

Today the busyness of the last couple of weeks hit me, I felt a bit like the walking dead. Cautious of the materialism of “holidays” I continued with a low-key “celebration” of Easter, treating it as more of a typical Sunday with some added conversation … Continue reading
We Are Going To Weekend
We started the weekend last night with “Go Fish”, reading and taking turns massaging each other’s feet. After a tough day for my boy, it was needed. And this weekend, we are going to weekend in style. Our plan is … Continue reading
Day 20: Month of Nothing
Today felt luxurious, for the tea with a friend {during my son’s physical activity session} turned into a bit of treat, something I wasn’t sure whether to accept, but as these things happen so rarely and the cake was actually for … Continue reading
Weekend We Welcomed You – Devon, I Missed You
A little feeling has been growing as of late. A “home” sickness if you will. Some mornings I wake up and forget. My head & probably my heart has a tiny moment of thinking today will include Dartmoor ponies, the rugged coast and the … Continue reading
Oh Weekend, We Welcome You
What a week! I’m sure there are echoes all around the world of so many of us sighing with relief the weekend is nigh. Breathe in. Breathe out. It’s here. Our week was filled with the calamity of moving on your own with … Continue reading
Weekend Loves
I’ll let you in on a little secret, I spend my weekends with the best people. Two of them to be precise! They help me have lazy mornings and remind me to smile. They create more laughter than I’ve known … Continue reading
Building The Life (Without Much Money)
Weekends are always a reminder to me, as I hear people’s plans, or see the queue’s of cars roll into my local shopping centre. Sometimes I watch them, cup on tea in hand, the quiet hum coming from the radio in … Continue reading

Thank you for all the lovely comments on my last post and concern for my son. Thankfully, he finally responded to the medications and has avoided hospitalization and surgery. He is still not quite fully back to normal, but definitely … Continue reading
