Welcome!
I'm Frugal Trenches (no, not my real name!) a lover of natural, simple and frugal living! I use this space and my camera to document a beautiful, purposeful, downshifted and abundant life! Life is not always simple (oh how I wish it was!) but it is always rich and I hope this space demonstrates beauty and joy!
If you have a question, feel free to leave it in the comments! I read and appreciate every comment and will reply to questions within the comment section, even if it takes a day or two (or three, but whose counting!).

All In A Week
The week has been beautiful, not without its challenges, but beautiful nonetheless. We had a brief hospital visit where my son was diagnosed with tourette’s syndrome. And while I do occasionally worry about the growing number of special needs, there … Continue reading
It’s Official: Math Progress
Both of my children are now only one grade below their chronological grade in math {and are working at or higher than their developmental grade}. In eight weeks of home educating they’ve plowed through a whole grade level and upon being … Continue reading
Taking It Slowly And Gently
We’ve had a slow and gentle couple of days. And it has been wonderful, needed, and a peek at what else is to come. There have been games played, books read, walks on the waterfront and a bit of school … Continue reading
Week 4: 52 Weeks of Happiness
This blurry, dark, no-frills photo sums up so much of what makes me happy. This week, one of my ultimate happiness moments came from taking the children to an art exhibit and finding a window which looked out onto one of … Continue reading
