Welcome!
I'm Frugal Trenches (no, not my real name!) a lover of natural, simple and frugal living! I use this space and my camera to document a beautiful, purposeful, downshifted and abundant life! Life is not always simple (oh how I wish it was!) but it is always rich and I hope this space demonstrates beauty and joy!
If you have a question, feel free to leave it in the comments! I read and appreciate every comment and will reply to questions within the comment section, even if it takes a day or two (or three, but whose counting!).

What I Need More Of…

My weakness’….
I have a lot of weaknesses! Seriously, they are nigh on impossible to count, they are that vast and wide! I’ve been reflecting today on why I feel so overwhelmed at the moment, part of it is being in a new country, having … Continue reading →
Reclaiming Simple Sundays & Simple Weekends
Aaah, there’s not much better than a beautiful, relaxed, simple weekend. I don’t understand why, even when a person isn’t working Mon-Fri, weekends still feel, well special. And this was no different. Yesterday was made up of a visit to … Continue reading →
Small Things, Great Love

In Need Of Renewal…
For a long while, I have felt, well weary. I coped very well while away, but when I left the children I finally had the head space to deal with all I saw and experienced; I began to grieve, question and … Continue reading →
I guess I should announce…
That I am home. Leaving was single-handedly one of the top two most difficult days of my life, walking away from beautiful faces, filled with smiles, hope, love and desperation, a desire and need to be loved completely. I saw the … Continue reading →
Grateful, Thankful, Blessed…
For the last few days, I have spent a lot of time in tears, or perhaps more correctly, sobbing. This is not because I am sad or depressed, it is not because I can not cope with what I’ve experienced, … Continue reading →
