Welcome!
I'm Frugal Trenches (no, not my real name!) a lover of natural, simple and frugal living! I use this space and my camera to document a beautiful, purposeful, downshifted and abundant life! Life is not always simple (oh how I wish it was!) but it is always rich and I hope this space demonstrates beauty and joy!
If you have a question, feel free to leave it in the comments! I read and appreciate every comment and will reply to questions within the comment section, even if it takes a day or two (or three, but whose counting!).

Don’t Let Comparisons Steal Their Joy

A kettle {ours is broken} A toaster {never had one} The services of someone to fix the dishwasher we inherited from the pervious owner {it doesn’t work} A plug for our sink {I’m currently using a mason jar lid, it … Continue reading →
We All Need Encouragement
I’ve mentioned before that my daughter is my greatest teacher. She has taught me more about love, life, compassion and gentleness in 14 months than I’ve learned in the 30 years I lived before she came into my life. Tonight, … Continue reading →

This week I had one of those days, a day as a Mama I dread, a day where I didn`t see my children during any of their waking hours. I was away from home, knee high in a project, for 16 … Continue reading →
Perspective
My children teach me perspective every day. They have a way about them that not only exudes joy, but focuses on happiness and thankfulness over the little things. And oh do they express gratitude, in abundance. Their prayers thank God for food and flowers and … Continue reading →
Simplicity Lesson – Ask And Ye Shall Receive
A few weeks ago I was in the midst of a big fret. I was worried about my children not having family in their lives, not feeling loved by enough people and I was worried about emergencies – who would … Continue reading →
