Welcome!
I'm Frugal Trenches (no, not my real name!) a lover of natural, simple and frugal living! I use this space and my camera to document a beautiful, purposeful, downshifted and abundant life! Life is not always simple (oh how I wish it was!) but it is always rich and I hope this space demonstrates beauty and joy!
If you have a question, feel free to leave it in the comments! I read and appreciate every comment and will reply to questions within the comment section, even if it takes a day or two (or three, but whose counting!).

Weekend We Welcomed You – Devon, I Missed You
A little feeling has been growing as of late. A “home” sickness if you will. Some mornings I wake up and forget. My head & probably my heart has a tiny moment of thinking today will include Dartmoor ponies, the rugged coast and the … Continue reading
Weekending
Weekends are all together, well, different. There I admitted it. In England at least 90% of the time, they involved a walk along the beach, picking up seashells and letting my feet feel the beauty that is the sea and … Continue reading
Reclaiming Simple Sunday – The Celebrity Edition
Today I happened on a cow field, where I became a celebrity of sorts. About 50 cows walked across the field to the fence to stare at me. I chatted away and they simply looked and looked and looked. And … Continue reading
Love Week Day VI
I love wild Ponies on Dartmoor in Devon, England. Nothing more tranquil!
My Day So Far….

Weekly Menu Plan
Food bought at Taverner’s Farmers Shop just outside Exeter! Breakfasts: Pancakes with blueberry smoothie (I still have a lot of blueberries frozen from last summer!) Bacon sandwich with orange juice Yogurt with flax seeds, fruit, almond butter and orange juice … Continue reading
Reclaiming Simple Sunday
I woke up with a pounding headache, which I’ve had off and on for almost 3 weeks now, which, coupled with the clocks going forward an hour, made me almost tempted to miss swimming, but I know how important swimming … Continue reading
Farm Love
Each time I turn the corner, and arrive where the air is fresher, the neighbours far apart, the views breathtaking and animals galore, something happens to me. I can feel my body relax, I can see my soul is revived and … Continue reading
Sweet Dreams
As of late, my dreams have all included animal ownership (surprise, surprise!). Last night I owned three dogs, one was a great dane, the other a mix who was ever so adorable, and the last a little white Scottie, named Maggie … Continue reading
