Welcome!
I'm Frugal Trenches (no, not my real name!) a lover of natural, simple and frugal living! I use this space and my camera to document a beautiful, purposeful, downshifted and abundant life! Life is not always simple (oh how I wish it was!) but it is always rich and I hope this space demonstrates beauty and joy!
If you have a question, feel free to leave it in the comments! I read and appreciate every comment and will reply to questions within the comment section, even if it takes a day or two (or three, but whose counting!).

I can hardly believe the calendar has landed on November. October seemed all together too short, though it peppered with many happy things, there were also many, many challenges. I felt somewhat conflicted as it is my favourite time of … Continue reading

It has taken being away, to help me see my focus and direction over the last few months has been off. While I could ramble off stressful things like new special needs diagnoses for my children, a huge amount of … Continue reading
Oh, March!
March, I am so glad you are here. It hasn’t been anywhere near as treacherous a winter as last, but I am ready for spring. Spring and Autumn for me is where it is at. Mild weather, long walks, no … Continue reading
Preparing
Today is our last Saturday before the rush of school starts, once again there will be less time for relaxing strolls in parks, finding fun creatures and just being still. My daughter has already lost a lot of sleep worrying … Continue reading
Help A Family Friday: It’s OK When It’s “Small”
Having recently adopted two fabulously wonderful children on one very average charity worker income, with no assistance, no free childcare and special needs which mean extra resources are needed, it can be challenging to think about how to help others. When … Continue reading
Still Figuring Out The Budget
Busy, busy, busy, busy. Minor car accident + increased school costs + PA Day childcare costs + sick child + car battery dead + physiotherapy = budget not balancing at all. Pure joy I tell you, pure joy !
