Hot on my realization, I’m keeping this week as slow and gentle as possible. Our goals for the week are:
Mothering/Family
- Bake ginger biscuits together
- Read a chapter from our chapter book The BFG every day
Have a family games night- Read the Bible 3 x as a family
Go for a hike at the beach togetherArrange for a friend to come over to play with my daughter- Book our mini break {struggling with the how, but know we need something small and a couple of days at a cabin this summer is good for us all!}
- Read a poem to both every single day
Return library books
Personal Goals
- Do deep breathing activities every day
- Finish going through all my childhood items and donate
- Trim all cats nails {no easy feat!}
- Drink 4 glasses of water every day
- Finish reading Away and The Encouraging Parent
Chat to closest friend in the UK- Finish replying to lovely emails/offers from blog readers
Homeschooling Goals
- Complete a daily activity about the seasons again as both are forgetting
- 25 sentences per child
- 20 pages of kumon math per day per child
- One hour of reading per day per child
- Typing sessions for 30 minutes per day per child
- Continue learning about governments and leaders: currently they know who Stephen Harper, Kathleen Wynne, Rob Ford, Barack Obama and David Cameron are, and what their role is.
- Begin project on the Queen with final presentations due next Monday
- Review their bat projects with them both and give grades/strengths and areas for improvement
- Review days of the week, months of the year and important dates
- Continue with general knowledge program I developed – 30 minutes per day
- Write a letter to their godmother in the UK.
- Both: review 1-5x tables daily
- Write a poem each
- Have each child write their experience of the month of nothing on the blog
Financial Goals
- Pay all bills
- Plan a budget for March
Update grocery spending on the side of the blog
