Week 4: 52 Weeks of Happiness

z8

This blurry, dark, no-frills photo sums up so much of what makes me happy. This week, one of my ultimate happiness moments came from taking the children to an art exhibit and finding a window which looked out onto one of their favourite buildings: “oooh, look Mama, look” was uttered more times than I can count.

The photo sums up this special time we have together, the joy of home educating, the thrill of seeing the world through their eyes. The reminder of just how blessed I am when I feel their hands slip into mine as we walk side by side, our family of three facing life – the joys, sometimes challenging memories, and utter happiness of our moments now. Because there is so much happiness now we face each day with one other.

What reminded you of your joys this week?

I’ve had great joy watching little spurts of green coming back to our brown, dried up nature strip because of the rains. Also helping my 22 year old find pride in putting together a simple wooden shelf for his wardrobe. Cherrie

Remember loving the CN when i was in Fort Erie and used to visit Toronto. I have struggled these last few weeks to find much joy – i dont know why , but i am going to think of something positive and make a note. Today i painted my hallway and saw the crocuses start to sprout in my garden. I need to slow down and enjoy all the small things more. Thanks FT as always for reminding me that so much is going on , i just need to see it x

  4. Lovely picture! One of my joys this week was looking through a seed catalog with my grand daughter, she enjoys gardening with me and learning to grow her own food, the conversations we had centered on what she would like to grow, and if she could help me again this year. Although, her one remark left me laughing. When we spotted peas she remarked that she didn’t like the peas that came out of the garden (she tried them raw right from the pod) but likes hers “fresh from the can”. Seriously though, I enjoy knowing that I have something to share with the little ones that they can learn from and hold on to those memories.
