We Are Going To Weekend

october 2011 153

We started the weekend last night with “Go Fish”, reading and taking turns massaging each other’s feet. After a tough day for my boy, it was needed. And this weekend, we are going to weekend in style. Our plan is to…

Make music
Dance to music
Bake 100 cookies at least!
Read book after book after book
Walk in the snow
Toboggan
Paint a picture together
Make soup together
Snuggle
Make up stories
Play games
Write letters
Tell each other we love one another more times than we can count…

What are you doing this weekend? Whatever it is, from my family to yours, we hope it a good one!  xo

{Edited to add it is now 8:10 am and both children are still asleep. Of course one was up with nightmares between 3-5, and by that time I couldn’t fall back asleep, but oh my this never happens. I’m going to make a cup of tea now and hopefully enjoy it in the quiet…..sshhhh!}

Have a wonderful weekend. Mine is being spent quietly – at the moment I am watching Poirot and I have a present for my niecelet’s birthday next weekend I must finish knitting. If I can summon up the energy, I shall bake something chocolatey :)

Posted my last comment in the early hours – no. 2 son had a nightmare & got into our bed . He fell asleep & I was left clinging to the edge of the bed! Gave up trying to sleep & got up for a cup of tea at 3.30…

Have a lovely weekend! I hope your little boy won’t have more nightmares tonight. I think you are doing a wonderful job! Kirsten @ The Happy Larder
PS: my weekend will include walking our little dog, a bit of baking and just some quiet time reading (hopefully :-) )

I am down in Maryland near the Chesapeake Bay where it meets the Potomac visiting my daughter and her family, playing with the granddaughters I don’t get to see often enough, but as much as we can manage. They are 5 and 3 years old. This morning we went to the Calvert County Maritime Museum and petted the sting rays and watched the sea horses curl their tails around grassy seaweed. They made a beautiful breakfast for my birthday this morning and sang songs in three languages to celebrate. I read books to them later on. It’s a very special weekend.

It may take your dear son and dear daughter a long time to work through all that has happened to them before, but I feel they are in a safe and loving place now and you all will do very well, better every day, with God’s grace!
