December Goals

It may be the 3rd of the month, but I’m determined to get some good, SMART goals made for this month and stick to them. Fresh on the back of our new routine (didn’t go very well this morning, sadly, but we’ll stick to it and it is bound to get easier. Right?!), I’m determined to have a month which helps move us into the direction of more peace, rejuvenation and gentle living. So this month, the goals are:

Family

  • Enjoy a hike each week (3/4)
  • Bike Ride (4/4)
  • Volunteer somewhere together
  • Purchase food for the food bank and deliver it as a family
  • Make face scrub and massage oil as gifts for Godparents, Teachers, Grandma {last year we didn’t really manage to make gifts, so this year I’m determined}
  • Make bookmarks as a gift for Godparents and birth sibling
  • Meet up with my children’s birth sibling – date and time booked!
  • Visit the Art Gallery
    Purch
ase some leggings for my daughter who has grown out of all of her trousers!

Home

  • Finish unpacking my daughter’s room
  • Finish unpacking my son’s room
  • Finish unpacking my room
  • Arrange the city to pick up mattress
  • Put up some basic holiday decorations {we didn’t have a tree last year, this year I’m not sure…}
  • Stick to our morning routine
  • Do a holiday clean of the home so we establish a good routine!

Organization

  • Pay library fines
  • Pay December bills
  • Begin a filing system
  • Organize computer files
  • Clean out boot of the car
  • Organize my desk at my office

Medical

  • Occupational Therapy appointments for both children
  • Appointment at Brain Rehab hospital for my son
  • Fill my two prescriptions
  • Fill both children’s prescriptions
  • Make medical claim at work
  • Book daughter’s physiotherapy sessions for January and February

Other

  • Register children for swimming lessons next year
  • Make Christmas cards & send them out
  • Take cats to vet – appointment made!
  • Trim cats nails
  • Taxes
  • Contact old work for some missing paperwork for taxes
  • Take class

Friendships

  • Email friend A to get together over the holidays
  • Email friend J to get together over the holidays
  • Send my friend Kathleen a parcel with children’s pen pal letters!
  • Arrange Christmas get-together with Godparents

And there you have it! Writing goals brings me such clarity and helps me use the very rare few moments of “spare time” wisely!

What are your goals for December?

There’s plenty there to keep you more than busy.
I hope the meet up with the children’s birth sibling goes well.
The contact is important, but can be tricky as well we know, I hope it’s good for everyone.

Its going to take a bit to get into the the habit but once you do your mornings will go so much smother for your(I hope). You have so many goals for the month!!!!!! I hope the meetings with there brothers/sisters goes well

More than enough to keep you on your toes! I wouldn’t worry about your morning routine not going well. If there is one thing that I have learnt since becoming a mother is that 90% of the time things do not go to plan, but the fact that you attempted a routine makes things easier in the long run.

  4. That’s quite a list. Good luck with the sibling visit.

  5. Wow, share some of you energy tricks…you must have some to keep up with your list of goals. Good luck.

  6. Bike riding in December in Canada? Bundle up!

I hope the meet up with the birth sibling goes well, how exciting for them! You have inspired me to make a monthly goal list – I must think on that tonight. Thanks!

No problem! I find it so very very helpful! Short term enough I continue to be motivated, long term enough I see real progress! Hope it goes well!

  8. That’s an amazing list! I love how it’s broken into categories. Fingers crossed that the meeting goes well.

FT, I have been doing a monthly to-do list for months now, after seeing you make a list and strike out the things you’ve completed! I keep in my drafts email folder and strike them as I finish and at the end of the month I send that email to myself! Thank you!! You’ve been a great inspiration.

Do you bake Christmas goodies with your kids? I’ve just started baking for this season and am loving it. Hope your kid’s visit with their birth sibling goes on smoothly and joyfully!! Have a wonderful Christmas!!

Off to ready your morning routine.
