Weekend Loves

I’ll let you in on a little secret, I spend my weekends with the best people. Two of them to be precise! They help me have lazy mornings and remind me to smile. They create more laughter than I’ve known in a lifetime and oh how they dictate we do fun things like swim, jump, make, give, sing, tickle, cuddle, spin and dance.  Sometimes it is noon and all we’ve done is eat, laugh, read and play games. And we are still in our pj’s. Oh those are the best days.   This weekend we were able to hang out with two other pretty cool people too, friends who are always welcome. And as I watched my two chase after a laughing 2 year old (the daughter of their Godparents),  I realized just how happy life can be. Yes, this motherhood gig has taught me to listen to wee ones and embrace life like them. And for us this meant buying food for those in need, eating breakfast in bed, hanging out with our furries, reading books, seeing friends, dancing, tending the garden, picking our bounty, singing and playing a whole load of games: Pop, Memory, Sorry, Old Maid, Guess Who and Yahtzee, we loooove you! Life is fabulously wonderful, weekends especially. Whatever you did, I hope your weekend was lovely too.

p.s. Ignore the weeds, 10 days of no weeding our plot = we were overrun, though according to my daughter “weeds are beautiful too”.

You have made such a wholesome life for you all! Amazing to think of all that planning and thinking you did beforehand and how it helped you come to a good peaceful, nature focused place so quickly!

  2. I adore the pictures! Little ones are great for reminding you of what is important. I got to spend the week with my grand kids (they went home at night) while their parents moved into their new home. I had such a wonderful week, the home is messy and I am in the process of putting it right, but I wouldn’t trade the laughter and conversations we had for the daily spotless house. And yes, we took walks, read books, played in the dirt, and played games too.

What a lovely post. Apologies I’ve been soooo quiet for an age, but I read often and have loved following this exciting new journey with your children.

They are certainly lucky to have you as their mum :)

lovely ! we donate to a charity here in the uk called foodbank. The kids love choosing food for others. It has rained so much here that none of our plants have grown ! never mind. This weekend was monopoly and baking. I love the weekends ( and holidays ). I will miss mine when they are back to school. Love to the frugal family x

Oh kellie, I’m in full agreement. I am so sad mine head back to school tomorrow. Thankfully this year I will have an additional 2 hrs in the evenings with them. That keeps me going.

Hope your wee ones had a good transition back to school!
