Wow it is so beautiful!
I know someone who lived there – and had to live – she couldn’t cope with the winters! It does look pretty though … and I too hope to explore it one day
oops that should say “had to leave”!
Definitely on my “to visit” list as well!
Although I do love the little corner of the country I currently live in; I needed the reminder to enjoy and appreciate it more….
That really was beautiful to watch. I never have been there or no anyone from there.
That was really beautiful and peaceful to watch. It made me relax!!
I live there. And while beautiful, it is very difficult to live simply or self-sufficiently. 80% of all perishable goods are trucked onto the island-hard to eat locally. Even if you don’t live on the coast (salt spray, rocky ground), its a short growing season with nasty wind and unpredictable frosts. I do recommend visiting though-friendly people, beautiful sights (good for pictures) and a solidly traditional culture.
Wow Leah, I’m envious. Even with the drawbacks. The other place I adore on that coast is PEI!
How beautiful! I wanted to visit Newfoundland after reading ‘The Shipping News’ – it sounded amazing.
OOoh yes, I *loved* that book! I remember reading it as a teenager.
Newfoundland is beautiful… and it pulls you back time and time again ( I so want to know where the white house in the TV commercial is located). Just like where I live … Prince Edward Island. It may be the smallest province but it entralls everyone who visits and even some of us who live here too
Have you had a chance to visit the Atlantic Provinces? Many places are reminiscent of England. Scotland and Ireland. Take care.
Sadly I’ve only been to Nova Scotia. I agree, the Atlantic Provinces always seem so much like England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales to me. I’m not sure, sadly, if it will be possible to visit financially so right now I live via youtube.
oops… guess I don’t type how to type my own name (hahaha)
