Reclaiming Simple Sundays

Today I Have:

Felt significantly slightly overwhelmed

Prayed

Knit scarves for the homeless

Watched Road To Avonlea {which transports me to the era in which I belong ;) }

Snuggled with my buddies

Felt joy at the hot water bottle on my back {for comfort!}

The rest of the day I will:

Complete paperwork & work

Make some Pakistani food

Complete paperwork & work

Read more of Matthew

Complete paperwork & work {sensing a theme??}

Turn off all the lights, light candles and watch Downton Abbey {doesn’t Mr. Bates encapsulate goodness? Oh yes he does!}

Happy Reclaiming Simple Sunday to you all!

How did you spend your day?

    Sounds lovely FT. I’ve been making chocolate cupcakes (for a birthday), eating a giant Sunday Roast and admiring Baby’s second tooth which made its debut a few hours ago!

    So, did you do paperwork and work today? Haha.

    Today I:
    - went to church
    - shopped for a couple Chinese New Year’s decorations for grandparents and a pair of bunny slippers for niece (it’s the Year of the Rabbit!)
    - did a couple loads of laundry
    - watched Mr. C and J swim while I took photos
    - had a family dinner
    - blissfully witnessed J go to bed within 15 minutes! Bliss, I tell you! :)
    - now that that’s done, I’m going to enjoy some peanut butter clusters that my sweet neighbour made for me with some lady earl grey!

    Don’t fall asleep with the candles burning…but after they are extinguished, I hope you do fall asleep and rest well. I will sing a lullabye for you. Any moment now you should start feeling greatly relieved that I am much too far away for you to hear it. :)

    Have a good week, my friend. <3

    I had to work:( and I hate working sundays but I thought it would be alright since I only had to work 4 hours. Wrong! It was as always terrible. I don’t know why Sundays at a petstore are so terrible? I missed Downton Abby :( thanks to the stupid football game on. But I’m going to stay up late to watch it, I think! I may wait till morning and watch it online :) Oh well! tomorrow hopefully will be better :)

    Sounds like you have a rhythm going :-) Today I am packing up my mom’s apartment as she is moving to a nursing home. I spent countless hours shredding paper til my fingers hurt. I cleaned the kitchen and bathroom, I packed things to take to my home, I took down curtains and sorted things that mom will take with her. I then went to visit her at the hospital. Then I tried to do more work and knit for awhile only to unravel it all.

    Blissful! Your kitties are so beautiful…
    And I’m so glad you enjoyed (ing?) Downton Abbey…I was hoping they would show it over there after I watched it at Christmas and loved it. Have you had (new) Upstairs, Downstairs yet? xxx

      Not yet, I hope it is here soon! The original always reminds me of my Dad, he used to play the record on a Sunday, that almost brings tears to my eyes…

  8. Elizabeth says:

    FT they are just so beautiful! How do you drag yourself to work each day?

    When I picture a man for you, I picture the goodness of Mr. Bates and of course Mr. Thornton too!

    Have a lovely day dear!
