The Great Thing About Not Sleeping…

  • Because of the time difference you get to listen to Chris Moyles on the radio (via the internats) because normally UK time 6:30-10:00 am is 1:30 am to 5 am here and you are asleep!
  • You get to count that in just a little less than 80 days you get to skip through the streets of  London, with camera in tow, nipping into Harrods to listen to the piano man, walking across the bridge connecting St Paul’s Cathedral and the Tate Modern, perusing the art galleries and museums you’d missed so completely, then plan to finish the day with a drink at your favourite pub while reading the Guardian.
  • You have the chance to laugh at the fact both Mr Moyles and yourself have colds. September rain brings colds people; you heard it here first!
  • The night can be spent listening to music and dancing by the light of the big Canadian moon…
  • You get to plan every second of your first few days at home – the drinks, food, walks, hikes, jogs, visits to knitting shops and swoons. 80 ish days my friends, 80 ish days…
  • You get to plan all the awesome exercising you are going to do tomorrow and believe it to be true…until you wake up that is! ;-)
  • You can eat a vegetable samosa dipped in edamame hummus and sip ginger beer!

Are you returning to the UK? To live? Or for a vacation? I’m really confused!

  2. thickethouse says:

Wow! You have me beaten I think! In 1967 I flew to London for the weekend, with hotel, two meals a day, sightseeing, and flight for $66.00. I was working for American Airlines and it was a special deal from BOAC for other airline employees. But one pound? Wow!

SO awesome! UK for Christmas!!! Oh that’s a dream trip for sure! :) a bit green over here!! :)

  4. The worst thing about not sleeping is when you fall into a deep sleep about half an hour before you’re due to get up then when your alarm clock goes off it feels as if your being dragged out of a coma!! ;0)

  5. Betty says:

Hope your new life in Canada is really working for you and your Mum and kitty are both well back here in UK. Looking forward to welcoming you back in 80 days. Are you here for Christmas?

  6. Betty says:

Wow that’s an amazing flight deal, the worst thing about this side of the continent is that at Christmas there are no good flight options for me, so I haven’t been home for Christmas for 6 years….
You are great at looking at the bright side of not sleeping, but I hope you get a few good nights soon!

You know you need something other than wedge sandals to jog in, right? ;)
