Greatful, Thankful, Blessed

IMG_6342

So much to be thankful for this week…

  • A job interview tomorrow
  • An awesome free book on yoga for beginners, free from my gym! I can not tell you the last time I bought any “stuff” – seriously it just doesn’t seem to exist in my life anymore! I feel like I’m living a rich life (in the true sense of the word!) on exactly 0.00! No going back…!
  • The news that one of the babies I cared for is now eating solids! Woo Hoo!! If you knew how hard it is for her to eat, you would probably call this a miracle! :)
  • A lovely chat yesterday with social worker of the children I fostered; she was incredibly kind, told me I was the best foster parent they’ve ever had (which I’m sure really isn’t true and she was just being kind) and we had a great catch up and talked about how the children are progressing!
  • A beautiful evening watching very independent, bohemian, filled with hidden social issues and very British films, both free from the library! Like I said, who needs to spend money…
  • A lovely, heart warming, sweet nectar of life walk - where I met a cat named Mowgali (who was on a walk, in a park, with her owner!!), two awesome labradors who happily played tag, two squirrels who posed for pictures and the cutest baby boy from China, whose face was seriously delicious!! When I told him how adorably edible he was, he just giggled and laughed, which made both his parents and I laugh uncontrollably. There we were, strangers, laughing together – another sweet nectar of life moment :)
  • The quote “to me a week is a year, every moment is a blessing”
  • My mum, who celebrated a Birthday this week!
  • Clean drinking water and food- a blessing I take for granted and forget millions of people die from lack of access to!
  • The fact each day I can hear myself slipping into more “Canadian” style speech, expressions like awesome and super duper. I kind of find it funny the fact people are so chipper and am not yet used to people saying to me “you have a wonderful day”.

What are you thankful for this week my sweet bloggy friends?

  1. As always a very uplifting post from you FT. We have to pay for our dvds from the library – only £2, but still. Super duper is a phrase that is actually in use?? Wow, it sounds, very old to me!

I am grateful as ever to have my partner in my life, and the time to get a little creative.

I’m pretty guilty of saying ‘awesome’ and ‘you have a good day’ a lot! haha!
Have you said ‘eh?’ yet? *wink*wink*

It sounds like you are doing very well. Wonderful news!
Best of luck with your job interview.

What were the movies? I adore British movies. My all time favorite is Enchanted April , which just came out on DVD. I think it was released in 1993

      Hey Trish

      - Driving Lessons – absolutely brilliant British film! Can’t remember the name of the other, will look it up :)

  5. Thankful for everything I do have, (a roof over my head) and many blogging friends, and shared interest in life.
I am so very glad you are doing well, and send blessing to you to substain you on your journey.

Isn’t it strange how we start to speak in the manner of the environment we are in? I remember years ago being on vacation in the bahamas and within a few days there, I was so surprised to find myself picking up thier accent, it literally just came out, and really startled me! I thought it was crazy, that I would start talking that way without even trying…it felt so strange!

  7. Lisa says:

Wishing you all the best for your job interview.
Fabulous news about the little one you were caring for.

Ooh Driving Lessons is such a good movie, yet nobody I know has seen it!
All the best for the job interview tomorrow.
Today I am thankful for: my current job, keeping me busy but interested; my future job in two months, exciting and scary; our new car and the lift I got to work today in the pouring rain!

  9. Thankful for breath, for approaching fall weather, for evening moments with my hub, for helping clients at work, for after work runs with the dogs, for phone calls with loved ones, for health, for a renewed cooking desire, for no line at the post office, for colorful shoes, for calendars and plans, for fresh filtered water, and for so much more.

Much to be thankful for in life, eh?! ;) GOOD LUCK on the interview—you’ll do great! I hope it turns out to be a job that is a wonderful fit for you….

Good luck on the job interview, FT!

So glad to hear that the baby you fostered has finally started to eat solids. I have a friend’s whose daughter face a problem like that due to medical conditions and I’m so glad she can eat now after being on liquid diet for a long long time.

Thanks for introducing me to Doc Martin, I’ve been watching more episodes of that on you tube and love it! Will look up those Brit movies as well. I enjoyed watching Brit movies on TV when I lived there for a short while.
