So many good resources this week!
- New York Times – A Case for Mental Courage (I have a blog post rolling around in my head about this!)
- New York Times – A US Judge Halts Obama’s Stem Cell Policy
- New York Times – Can Pre-schoolers Be Depressed
- Guardian – Superheros are bad role models for Children
- Daily Mail – Nobody likes a do-gooder: Study claims selfless behaviour is alienating (there is so much I want to say about this, but I don’t have the words right now apart from to say: I think it’s sad that instead of a focus on helping, there’s a focus on not wanting to “feel bad” – a massive issue in our more self based society, which actually relates to the first article I mentioned about Mental Courage)
- New York Times – Recipes for Health – Blender Tomato Soup
- My friend Michelle posted a video about Christans & Twilight (which relates to the psychologists claims about modern superheros being bad role models for children)
- And finally, to keep things a little light, here’s a wonderful video from my favourite UK show Countryfile (a program about living in the country in the UK) with a dog swimming with his friend the dolphin in Middle Town – be still my beating heart, how I miss the stone cladding and little white cottages!
Have you seen anything sweeter?

Thanks so much for sharing that gorgeous You Tube clip. What a nice way to start my day, with a smile on my face watching those two lovely friends.
Thanks Dianne! I saw that in person, so it makes me a tad sad and homesick!
I agree, so nice to watch! Also these articles look very good. FT you educate me and make me more human!
Thanks for these links, I will have a read. But you know there is a reason why the Daily Mail is called the Daily Hate, as one of its many slang titles!
lol oh yes I do know we used to joke about that at work. I couldnt’ find that article anywhere else, but I did think it did represent many people and was realistic. I know many overseas volunteers would agree and have found incredible changes in their relationships/friendships, very sadly.
I prefer ‘Daily Fail’
On the subject of twilight, they are at least for long, monogamous, married relationships
Very very interesting articles, thank you!
The video is adorable. Good reads too.
I really enjoyed the video about Christians & Twilight. I thought he had excellent thoughts on it, but when I clicked on other YouTube videos of this man, I was turned off when he preached that we as Christians, should not do Yoga because it’s evil.
I have relationship with Jesus Christ, but I don’t alienate other religions and beliefs or consider them evil. IMO, we all take different paths to the same end goal – God.
