Long Week…

It’s been a long week in the FT household and I loooong for the Devon countryside. Oh to walk and see wild ponies, rolling countryside and the sea. My hands are bleeding from surgical soap which wash them 10x a day, at least. And yet there is something all together good about collapsing into bed after knowing you’ve spent 10 hours dedicated to helping people and yet you must always balance that with the realization it may not work. A difficult line to balance those first few days in a job.

And when you can’t stroll through the Devon woods, what do you do? Go swimming, visit a 800 year old Church, maybe see some family and listen to Billy Joel’s She’s Always A Woman!  Weekending bare bones style :)

What are your weekend plans?

  1. If you’re in Yorkshire as your picture of Harewood House the other week would suggest, then there is sure to be some lovely rolling countryside within easy reach! The sea might be slightly further away but it’s always worth the journey :)

Our weekend – we’re going on a long-awaited sausage making course tomorrow then Sunday will be a day of gardening chores and doggie walks. Can’t wait :)

I’m sure you’ll find beautiful countryside wherever you’ve ended up :)

My weekend is meeting friends, pottering in the garden, reading library books, sewing, and baking cakes for my birthday tea party next week :) Enjoy yours!

Sounds like you’re enjoying your new job so far. Get some rest this weekend! Revitalize yourself for another week of fun at work. =)

Perhaps you are unsure of the job from what you shared in your post? No matter what, follow your heart, and you’ll know where you should be in the long run. Change is not always easy. I’m sure you must miss your mum and sweet cat. Sending good wishes your way.

Your weekend sounds like the gift to yourself that it needs to be. So I hope it revitalizes you and centers you in the way that you need.

Today is hubby’s birthday, so we’re having a big bbQ. A lot of planning, but it should be fun.

Fortunately I didn’t wait for the weekend to take a long desired walk to Granville Island Market. See the beginning of my journey here http://snapthatpenny.blogspot.com/2010/04/fantastic-walks-in-vancouver.html
It was a beautiful sunny day yesterday when I went and it is coolish and raining today. I was hoping to look an allotment this weekend but find i am 121st on the list! I keep changing my plans every few hours so let’s see what I actually end up with. I’ve been so busy this week…perhaps will just put the feet up and tend to my little patio garden in between.

What a wonderful plan for the weekend! Mine involves cafe nero with my Mum, and an afternoon out to enjoy the sunshine. Sunday will be jobs and relaxing: I’m determined to do a bunch of reading too. If the weather lasts I have plans for a blanket in the back garden with a stack of books to start. Bliss!

What is your new job? Sympathy for the raw hands….have you tried bag balm for them?
