Things Happening At My House Thursday

  • The kit kat, well, I’m not too positive about her recovery! She has a major major gash about the size of a fist (!!) on her side. I’ve had a look with a surgical light and personally I think it needs a good 8-12 stitches! Yet she is back to eating (yesterday chowing down on jalapeno peppers!!), seems far better than last week etc, but the size of the wound is staggering!!! I plan to phone the vet again today and gently (!) double check he doesn’t want to do stitches! ;0) Any advice???
  • The kit kat has decided my bed is the only place she will sleep - only it is right in the path of where my body should go and she is not willing to compromise!!!
  • I am knee high in paperwork for my new position – yet I feel they are stalling about a few things and I’m worried it won’t all come together funding wise (another position locally just lost it’s funding!). Sigh! I will keep trusting and try to just accept whatever happens.
  • I have a booking for something which is very very important on July 30 and am so excited and yet scared out of my wits, yet excited, yet scared ;0)!
  • I am attempting to go swimming today sans car, this involves three buses, two walks and takes 1.5 hours to go somewhere which is a 15 – 20 minute drive (depending on traffic!). Swimming is very good for my emotional health and well-being as well as my physical health, plus it is free, so a 3 hour journey for a 40 minute swim seems semi-reasonable ;0)
  • I’m putting a post together about finding what your passion is, based on this post. Should be up later today or tomorrow!
  • My new post will be up at the co-op later today!
  • I read a very very sad story about a bunny being abused and I was distressed all day yesterday about it! I will never never never understand people and I find stories like this extremely upsetting! It always makes me feel so helpless!
  • The Rachel Allen free ebook is wonderful!
  • I was listed as one of the 75 blogs which will change your life by accountingdegree.com (thanks!)!
  • I am spending a lot of time dancing to this
  • My violin needs new strings which won’t be happening until I’m working! All in all with no swimming and no violin playing (my two major hobbies) I feel slightly in a funk!
  • I have had a headache for 6 days which is not making the funk any easier to shake!

And that is what is happening at my house, what’s happening at yours?

At my house my boiler seems to have broken down again! This is very bad news indeed. I just had it fixed. I’m insured, so I can call them out again, but last time the guy said he thought it was on its last legs…There is no way I can afford a new one. And, I’m waiting to hear if I got a job I interviewed for on Tuesday (still can’t afford a new boiler even if I get it..!)

I hope you enjoy your swim! Am sure you will start to feel better once you’ve been, even if it is a hassle to get there/back ;)

  3. I hope your cat feels better! Enjoy your pilgrimage to the pool–and remember: walking is good for you too.

  4. Melaniesd says:

Poor kitty… no wonder you have a headache! You’ve had a lot to deal with. Are you drinking enough water? Dehydration can cause tension headaches.
Enjoy your swim! Try to enjoy the commute too. Sometimes it’s nice to let someone else do the driving – even when it takes all that transferring and time.

  5. The Girl says:

Hope kitty feels better soon, you’ll just have to sacrifice your bed in the name of being a good nurse! What on earth bit him (her?) to leave a bite that big?!

Hope the swim goes well, I’m very impressed with you, the gym is a 10 minute walk from my house and I manage to find all kinds of excuses not to go!

And in my house this Thursday not a lot is happening until I get in at about 10pm when I will begin packing for a weekend away with the boyfriend!

  6. Ah, FT, this too shall pass has become my mantra, though nothing very dire is happening just now…I am praying for your kitty and your car, for your job, for your hopes…I’m here in Florida, the last days of my vacation………..I’m alone in the house now and plowing through the sheet laundry from two daughters and three grandchildren………Today I will meet a friend from high school (we graduated in 1963) for lunch at the art museum. I may meet another friend later on……….Tomorrow is my last full day here in Venice, Florida….I am ready to go home! But I will spend some time at the beach today and tomorrow.

  7. Kathryn says:

Oh your poor cat!! Do hope she is all better soon, this is the last thing you need!!

Hope you get some good news from the job soon!!

At my house I need to go grocery shopping and clean!!!!

  8. Kelly says:

Hope your kitty feels better! And praying everything falls into place for you!

At my house, my daughter and I are hanging out, since my husband is out of town again this week. We are heading out in a bit to take care of my husband’s 93 year old grandmother for the afternoon so my mother in law can have a bit of a break. I do this every Thursday afternoon. And I am a bit heartsick over a situation with a gal I have been pretty much best friends with since I was 5. We will see how that turns out….

  9. Looby says:

I hope your vet will take another look at your kitty for you.

Today I am getting my hair cut, yay! Also I am thrilled to be done with my dentist until my cleaning in July. I am also only 9 short rows from finally finishing my cardigan, so am determined to wear it to work tomorrow.

Stitching a wound that big with missing skin is nearly impossible and since it is a bite wound which is already contaminated, stitching it would just be asking for an abscess…cats heal great…if she is eating that is half the battle..cats that don’t feel well don’t eat. btw.. I’m a former vet-tech

  11. M says:

You have a lot on your plate, it’s no wonder you have had a headache! Hopefully your cat improves quickly and the vet has some answers.

I hope you enjoyed your swim and the “commute” was worth it!

  12. I do hope your cat gets better.
That’s a long trip for a swim! Have fun!
I hope everything works out at your new position.

As for me, I spent couple of hours this morning trimming my mint & other plants outside. Spring will arrive soon; the plants have begun to come back to life.

  13. lucid says:

Poor cat! Give it a kiss and a snuggle for me! Hope it’s side gets better asap!

Want to hear about the July 30th plan! Is July 30th a…significant date? :P

Today I am meeting a friend for a walk around the neighbourhood, cleaning out my office, get some groceries for dinner with friends on Saturday, and reading! I love March Break!

  14. Paola says:

I made myself go for a swim today, even though I wasn’t in the mood and I thought I didn’t have time. I’m so glad I did, everything seems better after a swim. Imagine your day if you hadn’t set yourself up with a swim!
