Farm Love

Each time I turn the corner, and arrive where the air is fresher, the neighbours far apart, the views breathtaking and animals galore, something happens to me. I can feel my body relax, I can see my soulĀ is revived and I can hear a little voice telling me I’m home.

Home among the rolling hills…with windswept hair and muddy boots.

Chatting away to anyone who will listen, today it was chickens, geese and calf’s. We enjoyed some interesting conversation.

Playing peek-a-boo with horses in the field!

And when it’s time to leave, to say good-bye, it gets harder and harder to go back to streets filled with homes and roads overtaken by cars. Despite the fact I’m moving, my goal is to head to a place where my soul well and truly knows it is home…

I hope your Saturday was relaxed, rested and reclaimed!

Oh, I do hope someday to settle down in a place more like that, as well. Or at the very least somewhere with a garden in the backyard :)

Sounds and looks wonderful FT! I do miss the english countryside! Which part of the country are you moving to for your new job? I hope it’s an area where there’s some countryside nearby or within travelling distance. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Beautiful photos, as always! Makes me wish to be there as well where it’s sooooo green!

I feel more relaxed just looking at your pictures. The countryside there is very simular to Nova Scotia. Rolling hills and fog… It’s beautiful!

I’m not sure I could do farm work. Far too exhausted today but I know that I couldn’t live in a big city and I am forever grateful that virtually every house I have ever lived in has not looked directly from at least one angle into other people’s homes. I always have a view of trees or parks, etc. City dwelling is so unnatural and it is sad that so many have become accustomed to it. Perhaps it even accounts, in part, for why people chase things so much.

  8. That looks beautiful. We’re still looking at some snow here, but it’s quickly melting away into a hopeful spring. I’d love to live in the country too, with some chickens and a milk cow.

I too have less money than ever before, but it’s a good life. I just have to learn to leave the financial worries to God. That’s my constant struggle.
