Must Get Things Done Monday

Today I feel like jumping in the leaves!  But, knowing it is Monday, I need to get a lot done [what is it about Mondays and Thursdays that makes me want to get things done]. Since I am incredibly lazy by nature and always need accountability and it’s my blog & I can do what I want ;) I thought I’d post the to do list…

  • Walk by the seaside [I bet you thought I'd get right down to work, like I said, I'm lazy in nature]
  • Make bed
  • Straighten hair [slightly sick of my ringlets at the moment]
  • Apply for job – I’ve found a grand total of 7 jobs in my field, all interviews would be last week in Feb or early March
  • Write, packing & address two birthday parcels and an adoption parcel & card
  • Rake my mum’s garden for her
  • Pack up books into boxes
  • Make homemade humus
  • Call Church about meeting with Pastor
  • Follow up email about volunteering opportunity number 1
  • Phone about volunteering opportunity number 2
  • Phone about my donkey course
  • Check to see if there are any new job postings
  • Sort out stationary cupboard
  • Write letter to tax office which has my name wrongly spelled again!
  • Watch the Olympics
  • Make chicken & rice curry
  • Make homemade chicken noodle soup with the carcass
  • Phone garage and book car in for a new front light – [tomorrow!]
  • Read Bible [will do before I go to sleep]
  • Make list of daily prayers/prayer schedule
  • Check on all your lovely blogs and swoon, swoon, swoon
  • Sew apron (the weekend ran away with me and I didn’t get it done!)
  • Reply to emails
  • Contemplate vegetarianism….again!

Must get things done Monday….! I may just have to keep repeating that to myself!

Do you have anything you must get done today?

Wow that is a lot to do in one day! Do you have more hours than we do up here?

I hope you get everything done and that it all goes smoothly for you :)

  2. The Girl says:

That’s a hell of a list. Makes me NOT want to get things done this Monday!

I MUST sort my blogging out. I have been erratic of late and need to find some kind of schedule or routine to get in to where I have a designated blogging time.

  3. Aydan says:

Wow, that’s a lot! Good luck with it! I envy you the walk by the seaside!

I have three blocks of classes, some time in a lab, and apartment-hunting. Since my days used to be a lot more intense, I’m going to try to take Mondays with a chin up this semester!

  4. Kristy says:

There is just something about Monday, isn’t there?
I need to emulate your list-making!

  5. Jennifer says:

I need to homeschool, do the laundry, finish sewing two ring bearer pillows, make quinoa salad, swimming lessons with the boys, make regular meals, give a haircut, and then collapse, oh and try to make an orthodontist appt. Hope you get everything done.

  6. Kelly says:

I have to grocery shop, but thankfully it is a short list this week since we blew the menu plan and ate out a few times last week (tsk, tsk!). Then I am heading to see my mom in the hospital. Laundry and house cleaning will be bumped until later this week. Thankfully I did a load of diapers yesterday. And then this evening my husband and myself are making chili for a chili cook-off at his work tomorrow. This is his year!!! Of course, that is after making a normal dinner. And then there is the inevitable kitchen cleanup…..

Have a great Monday. I think any list would seem doable if it starts with a walk by the sea!

  7. Frugal Years says:

I’m already tired reading your list. You must be a great time manager, I need to improve in that area. Hope you have a productive day!

  8. Frugal Undergrad says:

Ooh, I see you’ve already crossed some things out!
I’m glad to hear you’ve already found 7 jobs to apply for. I hope you get one of them!

  9. Jenn says:

That’s quite the list, but there’s nothing like being able to cross things off to keep you motivated, I find. Good luck with it all!

  10. Looby says:

That should keep you busy for a bit!
I also need to call the tax people, I’m imagining a good hour set aside to try and get through.
Of course I’m still struggling to feel fully awake and I’ve been up for an hour so I’m not holding out too much hope for the rest of my to do list!

  11. Andrea says:

    Let’s see:
    Read Bible
    Pray
    Do yoga
    Catch up on dishes
    Mop
    Put away laundry
Bake gluten free bread and pumpkin bread
    Make carrot soup/ puree
    Mend Apron
Go for walk up “mountain” (400 feet lol)
Go out to dinner with hubby

  12. Jan says:

If your lists are like mine, there are quite a few things that seem to stay on them for months! A good tip is to add all the things to the list that you’ve just got done, and then cross them all off straight away – it makes you feel good!

  13. kathleen says:

National holiday for US today, so I’m off and going to town with my sweetie for a delayed Valentine lunch.

    Put dinner in the crockpot.
Then I’ll finish up a blog project.
    Laundry.
    Change the linens…

  14. Joyful says:

I love making lists and crossing things off :-) Did you get to watch the Opening Ceremony of the Olympics?

  15. rachel says:

    Wow, busy day!
I don’t know about you though but I love throwing myself into a big long to-do list. It is *such* a good feeling to look at all those jobs ticked off by the end of the day…!

  16. Stacy says:

Wow girl! You make me luke like a lazy bumb. Because today is a holiday and some places I need to visit are closed today – I’m staying in…but planning a huge day for tomorrow. Doesn’t a list help so much?!?! Thanks for the motivation.

  17. carmen says:

Impressed! I write my to-do list in a little notebook but it still never gets quite that long. One of the more-fun tasks on my list today is to try to make placemats out of some pretty shelf-liner I found in a box. We always seem to get our tablecloths stained and it’s hard for me to find placemats I like, so I’m going to see if this can be an answer, if only temporarily! Here’s to productive Mondays!

  18. carmen says:

p.s. I saw this post on Design*Sponge and it made me think of you and your posts about wanting to buy a little cottage house in the country: http://www.designspongeonline.com/2010/02/sneak-peek-kucica-croatian-cottage.html

Not sure if you like the decor but thought i’d share anyway!!

  19. shoestringalley says:

Go you! There’s something about the beginning of the week/month/year that kind of sets the scene for a to-do list I seem to find :)

  20. Jennie says:

Mondays and Fridays are the days when I fell like getting things done. I think it’s because it’s either side of the weekend, so I’m preparing for the devastation only three boys (husband included!) can cause, and then clearing up from it! Trying to do anything at the weekend usually feels like trying to push back the tide in this house!

  21. angela says:

Your right Mondays and Thursdays make me get up and get things done. That way the weekend feels like its 3 days long.
I hope you get everything on your list done. good luck!

i did what i had to do today and enough time to do what i wanted, knit…That brightenes my day…
    take care,

  24. Goodness you got a lot done today! Always feels great to be productive. Hope it made for a great start to the week :-)

  25. Kathryn says:

    You sure are organized!!!!!

  26. Lynne says:

Wow. If my to do list was that long it would take me at least 6 months just to contemplate starting it!

I’d like to convince myself that you have more hours in the day than I do but I have to be realistic and confess to just being terrible at time management and the queen of procrastination.

Very jealous about the donkey as well!
