I see beauty all around

It is late and I am tired; soon I will go to bed  – but I couldn’t go without acknowledging something important, something profound. Today was a hard day in many ways, which I won’t go into here, and yet the more I think, the more I feel, the more I experience - well the more I become humbled by the beauty which surrounds me.

There is beauty in weakness, tears, grief, realizations and awakenings. There is beauty in love, comfort and candle light. I see beauty when I look at the sun and the moon, when I look out the window physically and spiritually and see from the inside out.  I am awed by the beauty I feel when I stand on the grass or in the snow and take a moment to breath in the air around me, savoring the sounds and smells. I see the beauty of the soul in the loving nature of animals, in the laughter and joy only found in childhood.

I see the beauty in having to wait for that your soul most desires, in learning through  many mistakes, in finding grace. I see beauty in the words of friends, the sound of music and the silence occasionally found, yet much longed for and needed. I see beauty in having your world fall apart and having to rebuild step by step, penny by penny. I am brought to my knees by the beauty found in hope and light. I am humbled by the beauty found in simple everyday things that nourish our mind, body and soul.

And the beauty found in faith – oh the beauty found in faith; it is too powerful for words, it is like watching a seed grow into the most beautiful of flowers.

Life may not be easy, it may not continually be filled with laughter or perceived joy, but it is filled with beauty -always always in abundance!

Where do you see beauty? Please tell me you see it too?

I didnt always see the beauty, but I have learnt to.

Today, while driving home I saw the sun shining on the water ( yes we have open water in some parts of the east coast of Canada) and I was in awe! Love you photos as always!

I see beauty in a stack of books. In the graceful motion of knitting…or a hand that sets into motioin a vibration that moves through the air and comes to our ear as music. I see beauty in washing dishes in a sink full of warm sudsy water…or in the flap of laundry in the breeze.

I see beauty in the healing of a wound, and the scar left behind…the reminder of grace given and received.

I see beauty in a lingering dream that allows a friend to visit me while I sleep, though by day I know we will not meet again until I’m called home.

I see beauty through your camera lens and words of faith. And I’m so thankful for the beauty of His love that you share.

  7. Beauty in your post for one thing. Sorry it’s been a difficult bit–know that you’re being thought of! Today I saw beauty in the furry happy faces of my dogs, in the smile and scruff of my husband, in the resilency of a young friend going thru difficulty, in the sound of my granny’s voice, and in the breeze I felt upon opening the back door. Thank you for helping us to remember to hold those moments tight to our souls and that in every moment good or bad….beauty does reign.

PS I responded to your question in the comments on my blog. ;-)

I hope whatever caused your day to be difficult was short lived.
But what a great question: I see beauty in the ocean and mountains that surround my city, I see beauty in the close relationship between my friend and her sister, yesterday I saw beauty in the air ambulance that landed on the hospital roof, opposite my office; as the staff rushed to help the person, I realised how much goes into helping those in need.

Thanks Looby! It will sadly be long lived, but there’s beauty in that too!

Lovely lovely places you’ve found beauty!

Hi, I came here by way of the Simple, Frugal, Green co-op. I like your blog, and your pictures are really pretty!

Right now I see beauty in the clear, blue cloudless sky after several days of nasty weather.
