  1. Did you make the food on that plate because it looks delicious?! If so I would love for you to share the recipes!

Sounds like it’s been a good weekend thus far!

    • Frugal Trenches says:

No I didn’t otherwise I’d gladly share the recipe with you! I got it from the cade PLANT which is a vegetarian and vegan restaurant in Exeter.

However, the beet salad is pretty much beetroot with spinach, the chickpeas are chickpeas, herbs & grated carrot (with maybe a lemon dressing), the cabbage is with pine nuts and raisins – in a vinegrette and the pasta is wholewheat with olives!

Corr – lunch looks good. Actually, it’s making my stomach rumble…good job Husband is on the case with a roast :)

  3. Anna says:

Yum – lunch does look good. Better than my very odd Tuna/Beetroot tortilla wrap that tasted worse than it sounds!

My Sunday has been calm – haven’t left the house. Sometimes it’s good to just nestle in and shut out the cold outdoors. Queen of Clean has been working his magic so all is well here :)

Thanks for your concern over my absence – all is well now!!

i wish i knew how to play cello. i took violin in school and always wished that i would have picked cello. lucky you!

    • Frugal Trenches says:

Laura – I really play the violin by far more than anything else. I only played cello due to High School – as I’d been playing violin for so long I was leaps ahead and waiting for others to catch up would never have happened, so the music teacher started me on cello. I plan to go back to it with lessons! Would you consider cello lessons?

  5. Ms B. Thrift says:

  8. That food looks scrumptious!

I’m glad you were able to just relax and do nothing this weekend… I’m sure you need it!

    Have a great week, FT.

  9. GC says:

    I read a book!

  10. Looby says:

I love that you quoted from “the Darling Buds of May”!!

I am having a lovely day, I was excused from doing the dishes from yesterday’s tea party, then we went for a walk and got SO new shoes (have been trying to get him to replace his old ones for months)

Now I am just having a little computer time after being woken from my afternoon nap with a cup of tea and a fairy bun!

And we’re having left overs for dinner so no work there. Am secretly hoping that I’ll have my own groundhog day and tomorrow will also be Sunday!

  11. Jennifer says:

Sounds like a wonderful Sunday. Those seaside houses are gorgeous, I do miss the sea. Today was spent finishing rearranging the living room, not really calming, but necessary.

  12. Lisa says:

Now I did the cloth pads and if I’d not had my op I was going to try the Mooncup, but cloth toilet pads, don’t think I could do that one!
