Thankful Tuesday

I have so much to be thankful for this week! I am thankful for:

  • 3 days NY celebration at a small farmhouse in the country with new and old friends!
  • Two days exploring Haytor and learning about this amazing country I live in!
  • The 4 pints of raspberries I was able to purchase for 75 pence!
  • Knowing how to freeze raspberries properly so they can be used throughout the winter!
  • My car & boot (trunk) doors wouldn’t close this week and I was worried about the cost, thankfully they’ve started closing again (I think it wouldn’t close as it was too cold!)
  • I currently have e.v.e.r.y sign of the beginning of the flu, while not ideal I do welcome the  chance to rest and spend a day in bed – I’m hopeful the coughing, throbbing head & fever will stop at some point :)
  • I forgot my swim ticket (10 for the price of 8 ) the other day and the person at the desk told me I could simply have two stamps taken off the next day. The following am a different receptionist was there and I asked her to take two stamps off and explained why,  she looked at me and said for my honesty she was going to give me  a free swim! What a blessing!

What are you thankful for this week?

Fingers crossed flu is not on it’s way to you FT.

I am thankful for this week for:-

kids happily going back to school and easing our way back into old routines after xmas

my 10 year eldest looking after a 4 year old new boy at his speech and language unit. They shared a taxi this morning (and will every day). Warms my heart and reminds me how far he has come and I feel grateful that this new little boy is getting the help he deserves.

I’m thankful that Haagen Daaz invented Baileys ice cream and Waitrose saw fit to put it on special offer before xmas. Just finishing it off now.

For my mum learning to email – hilarious mixtures of caps lock on/off emails.

For the thought (and its a naughty one) that I may not have to go into work tomorrow because of the snow!

What a treat with the raspberries and extra swim. Today I am thankful that my family are all healthy and there is hardly any wind today( it drops the temp by about 20 degrees) which means the kids can go outside and play.

ooh be careful with car doors and the cold! I once shattered the locking mechanism on my passenger side door one winter and had to drive home holding it closed with a length of rope – this was made equally difficult as I was driving stick shift!

Those raspberries look mighty delicious. I bought some kiwi yesterday and thought of you!

I’m thankful for having a safe and healthy pregnancy so far. Will show you ultrasound pics when I see you!

So how do you freeze raspberries properly?

Where on earth did these raspberries come from that they cost 75 pence in the dead of winter? I LOVE raspberries, and you Brits have far better ones than we do here in the states (our fruit tends to be quite bland in comparison, in my humble opinion). Raspberries with some cream and a smidge of sugar on top is pure bliess.
