A slow transition occurred in 2009- from manic weekends to simple Sundays to relaxed and reclaimed weekends. This one has been no different. While there was a shop, bills to be paid and a sympathetic ear to lend, there was more importantly time to reflect, pray, give thanks, walk, swim, laugh and explore. Haytor and Widecombe-in-the-Moor helped to revive the soul! The wild ponies and I became fast friends, their fur so soft and their nature so welcoming! The rest of the weekend has been spent visiting friends who’ve just purchased a 50 acre plot of land equipped with 300 year old stone cottage and this evening will include a small dinner party.
As I walked through the fields, ponies following me, puppy at my feet. As I sat by the wood burning stove knitting. As I presented a simple homemade meal cooked in the Aga, I could feel the quiet whisper giving me a glimpse into what my future holds. The whisper may be faint but it calls me, reassures me and satisfies me. It is, calling me home.
I hope your weekend was joyous, simple and reclaimed.

Oh, the wild pony is just precious!
i love your closing phrase…is that your dream, to own (or co-own) a small-holding? i am thinking a lot about dreams and how to achieve them lately, at my current new-start new-job carving out a new life type juncture…i am trying to find ways to start living my dreams now, even if they are actually far away from being realised…
much love to you, and i hope you relished your restful, simple sunday! xx
p.s. forgive me for asking but you are in my thoughts at the moment: how is the job search going? xx
What a wonderful transition to make. Your weekends sound absolutely fantastic, hope they continue to be so calm and peaceful. I would love an old stone cottage, that is one of my dreams, probably won’t find one in Wyoming though.
I love your beautiful Sunday.
Mine was reclaimed too, wondrously peaceful, quiet and restorative.
that sounds like a perfect Sunday to me. We sat in front of the fire watching tv and reading today, as it was so cold and snowing, so a perfect Sunday for us as well.
A Happy New Year to you and your family.

Sounds like a beautiful day!
Man, I always feel like moving to the UK when I read your posts!
Great close-up of a beautiful animal!
