I have so much to be thankful for this week! Thank you again for letting me share it with you!
- I am thankful for the wonderful outdoors, running along the beachfront and hiking in the forest humbles me and makes me see just how blessed I am! There are people who never get beyond 4 walls, (those in institutions including orphanages, prisoners etc) freedom is an amazing priviledge!
- I am thankful for my most wonderful friend Michelle, she is such a great support and encouragement to me! And I couldn’t be without her care & love!
- I am thankful for the peace that fills me now after a few days of slight upset upon finding out I didn’t get the job I had the third interview for!
- Our Christmas plans fell apart due to the weather and pretty nasty pipe situation, so I’m thankful I still have my mum to celebrate with
- I was able to see one of my closest friends for the first time in 7 weeks, in her words it was like the scene from the airport in Love Actually. So lovely to spend time with the nearest and dearest!
- I am thankful for the pool I swim in and the gym I work out at, knowing even in this weather, when the paths are slippy, I can still exercise is a real blessing! I am especially thankful that my mum bought me a pass for each for Christmas!
- I am thankful for my violin which I have enjoyed playing for hours each day this week!
- I honestly am blessed with the most wonderful friends who span the globe (England, Scotland, France, Australia, Canada and the USA) .While it can be difficult not being able to see them or give them a hug in person, I am blessed by how loved they make me feel each and every single day! I only hope I do the same back!
- I am thankful for being able to wake up each morning and live another day! When you think about it, it is an incredible priviledge!
- I am thankful that I have no job and no plans (trying to put a positive spin on unemployment!) because it means exciting things are ahead and 2010 will be an adventure!
- I am thankful for my Saviour, who died on the cross for us, who brings news of hope & joy and is always there for me rain or shine, with a more perfect plan than any human could muster

What are you thankful for 3 days before Christmas?

What a wonderful gift from your mom!
I’m thankful for the time to just *be* and enjoy the season. For all the food I’m about to buy to feed friends and family and that I have the money to purchase it. That the second-degree burn on my arm is healing quickly. That we were able to find exactly the piece of furniture we needed for $50 instead of $300. I’m thankful for all the times during the day that God reminds me how precious life really is.
What a lovely post! Personally, I’m thankful for my home and that I get to open it up to my family for food and fun in the coming days. I’m thankful for the new pics of my favourite kidlets that grace my fridge door, so I can see their beautiful faces every morning, even if I only get to see them in person every so often. I’m thankful for a lovely partner who let me snuggle back into bed after my morning walk in the cold snowy weather to let me warm up! Do I ever have it good!
Just popping by to wish you a peaceful, happy Christmas xxx
And I’m thankful for you! It’s always nice reading your blog and seeing the beautiful photos you post. I hope you have a peaceful and restful Christmas and a New Year that brings you everything you wish for
I’m thankful for your blog, Frugal Trenches, which helps me a lot. It helps me to remember that there are people like you out there, when I’m feeling discouraged or cynical. You’re an amazing woman – please keep up the good work!
A very happy Christmas to you. I hope 2010 brings you all the good things you undoubtedly deserve!
I’m thankful for so much today!
Mostly I’m thankful for a healthy son and husband.
I’m thankful for a job that I adore and helps me provide. I’m thankful to be able to spending Christmas day with my grandparents who are 80 & 85 years old. Also we will share a meal with my dad, his girlfriend, 2 aunts, an uncle, one of my brothers & his girlfriend. It’s going to be a blast!
I am a lucky lady.
FT, thank you for sharing your thoughts and dreams with all of us. I love reading your posts and you help remind me of the little things in life that truly bring us joy rather than the “stuff”.
Though you didn’t ask about going forward, I’ll share anyways:
In the New year I plan to impliment more “no spend” days and go to church more often.
I’m already thinking about next Christmas (I’m a bit too organized I think! ) and of ideas of gifts I can make thoughout the year. DH is in college until Jan 2011 and money will be tight for the next year so I will try to be creative in my giving rather than limit my giving.
What a great list! I love how you are thankful for things other people would complain about or not even notice!
i’m thankful that it’s only three days until christmas :p
i’m thankful that my dad managed to get home ok today, and that he had friends kind enough to put him up last night so that he didn’t have to sleep in his car.
i’m thankful that my packing is almost done.
i’m thankful for junk food, and that in about four days i will be back to eating healthily again (it’s nice to indulge, and it’s nice to get back on the wagon: all things in moderation!)
i’m thankful for many many layers, and multiple cups of hot tea, and that my heating is working!!
I am thankful for my 87 year old Mom who is still able to host Christmas dinner in her home (with help from family).
I am thankful that my son and daugher were able to spend the past year with their Dad again – first time for thirteen years.
I am thankful that I still have a job in this tough economy.
Merry Christmas to All!

am thankful for so many things. thanks for reminding me to be thankful for them. happy christmas!
I’m thankful for my home – a place where I love and receive love, especially from my wife and daughter.
I’m thankful for my health. Although, right now I can’t move because I think I pulled something in my back. Being immobile this evening makes me appreciate that most other days, I am able to go and do what I please.
I’m thankful also for people like you who are willing to let their lights shine for Christ.
I am thankful for the fellowship of believers.
I am thankful for family and friends…the memories we share and the time we spend together building new memories.
I am thankful for the lights on my Christmas tree, and that only half of a strand at the very bottom decided to flake out prematurely.
I am SO thankful for hearing a much-loved voice by long distance telephone.
I am thankful for the assurance that God is always near.
Hi FT sorry about the job- I’m sure something even better will come along soon.
I’m thankful for my colleagues who have become friends this year.
Thankful for my friends who were colleagues before.
Thankful for the safe and healthy delivery of my friend’s baby boy on Saturday.
Thankful for being able to enjoy a lovely Christmas in my apartment with my SO.
Thankful for these posts which make me stop and think each week.
Merry Christmas to you!
I am thankful for your blog and especially for you bringing me to think about how much I have to be thankful for!
One of my favorite quotes is “Don’t fret about getting older, it’s a privelege denied to many”. I think it is easy to live day to day not realizing that having that one more day really is a blessing. I know some older people that won’t tell anyone their age, and I share this quote, just hoping they will look at aging a bit differently. And that is what your blog does, it helps us look at things in life from new and different perspectives, and it helps us savor and celebrate life, as you so obviously do…I am thankful for that!
