It’s that time of week again where I get to reflect on the so many wonderful reasons I have to be thankful! Life truly is an amazing journey and experience, one I’m blessed to enjoy! This week has been filled with things to appreciate!
- Christmas baking – albeit some untraditional choices (UK cake being one of them!!) but lovely to be surrounded by such lovely yummies and be able to surprise friends with goodies!
- My wonderful friend Sarah who sent me an encouraging and supportive email just when I needed it :)
- My mum who surprised me today with spice cookie gingerbread men and lovely Christmas magazines!!
- Being able to help a very lost teenager who barely spoke English and had no clue how to get to where he was going! He seemed terrified, poor thing! Thankfully I was able to get him to his destination and en route to Switzerland!
- One of my best friends is currently expecting and I’m just so happy for them! C & C there isn’t a day I don’t give thanksgiving for the precious life you are growing, you’ll be fabulous parents!
- Twelve hours solid sleep Sunday night (not at home!)
- A breakfast with my flatmate where we were in stitches with laughter over my sleep situation and her not being used to having a flatmate – you know you have a good friend when you can laugh so hard about a situation that for many would cause conflict
- Being able to see my childhood home, where my memories of my father are. I wasn’t sure the new owners would oblige but they did and I’m just so so thankful!
- The squirrels I met in the park who actually came and sat next to me, watching me and making the most adorable sounds. I was able to capture the moment in photographs and may just submit them to the next Countryfile calendar!
- Being able to give a financial donation to the Salvation Army – they do wonderful work for children and families, especially at this time of year!
- A good 2nd interview – now I wait…!
- Photography – I do not know how to edit photographs or do anything other than find what pleases my eye and click, but there is something about it that truly warms my soul!
- Waking up each morning to enjoy another day thanks to the grace of my Saviour!
I have so so much to be thankful for! What are you thankful for this week?

The thing I am most thankful for is your post! It has reminded me to be thankful instead of giving in to that grumpy, tired, pre-Christmas feeling. Now that you reminded me to be thankful I realise I have a lot to be thankful for.
I am thankful to my wonderful sons and their girlfriends for their love and their humour.
I am thankful to my cats for their unfailing friendliness and cuddles.
I am thankful for my good health.
I am thankful to have a great job that pays me well and enables me to do the things I want to do with my life.
I am thankful that it will soon be Christmas and I will have some time out for me.
that cake is amazing!
and this post was wonderful: it’s always good to bo reminded to be grateful!
thanksful to be alive and not in a desperate situation
I am thankful for health, family and friends, my job and awesome co-workers, , my home, creativity, and that moment every morning when the sleep clears and I realize I get to enjoy them all for another day.
I am thankful for my family, our health and the fact that we will all be together for christmas. As they are now young adults I wonder how long we will be able to have christmas together without in-laws adding pressure on their time.
I’m thankful that I just had a fabulous weekend break, that I am able to have the time off work to take trips.
I’m thankful for my friends that I will be seeing this week.
I’m thankful that I am able to see a dentist and have access to great health care even though I’m terrified of them and don’t want to go tomorrow!
“I do not know how to edit photographs or do anything other than find what pleases my eye and click, but there is something about it that truly warms my soul!”
– Perhaps because when you’re looking through the lens you’re seeing with your soul?
Much to be thankful of in this past week, but in this moment right now I’m thankful for your continued generosity of self with this blog.
For all those who post comments to this post, I’m also thankful that I’ll get to read of and be inspired by your own gratitude!
