The journey of a gal living the simple life, trying to take beautiful photos, find inspiring words, as well as heart warming stories & share a frugal note or two!
Do you know my best friend was filmed for this but didn’t make the final cut – they caught her returning from her Honeymoon in Canada being met by her parents. She signed a release form and everything. We were so disappointed – particularly when we saw how beautifully they composed all the footage.
But it does mean it is extra special to her because every time she sees it she remembers coming home as Mr & Mrs to her Mum and Dad.
Love this movie! Put their version of “All I want for Christmas is You” on my Christmas playlist this year. Always makes me want to dance around my house!
This is far and away my favourite Christmas movie! My husband and I always watch it 5 weeks before Christmas (when the movie starts) to get in the spirit. Whenever I go to airports now I think of this monologue and get all verklepmt.
which is your favourite story? i watched it recently and decided my favourite one was laura linney’s (forgot the character name oops!) though i do still love colin firth’s. i think emma thompson is wonderful in this and she, in particular, always makes me sob…
I watched Love Actually last week and it still makes me cry.
It’s the best reminder of gratitude I’ve ever seen. Thanks for sharing; i’m going to go sob over here for a bit.. =)
one of the best scenes in the movie. i watch this every christmas season, it’s one of my all-time forever favorites. and i cry buckets through it all … especially the part where the dude tells kiera knightley how he feels through signs and then she kisses him!
I'm Frugal Trenches (no, not my real name!) a lover of natural, simple and frugal living! I use this space and my camera to document a beautiful, purposeful, downshifted and abundant life! Life is not always simple (oh how I wish it was!) but it is always rich and I hope this space demonstrates beauty and joy!

I tear up when I watch that scene, too. Love Actually is my favorite Christmas movie!
Mine too Kathy! I also love National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation – completely different but a great laugh
oooh and Home Alone & One Magic Christmas (a darling story but not well known!)
