Reclaiming Simple Sundays

After a wonderful but hectic weekend Thurs-Sat night with friends, I knew I had to scale back somewhat today, take a few moment to reflect, pray, relax and just savor the moment! It wasn’t necessarily easy due to some family woes, but the only way to deal with such stress is to focus on the positive and remember the blessings right here, right now…

My choosing-to-focus-on-simple-bits-only-this-Sunday include:

  • Enjoying a wonderful service at a fabulous Cathedral for the beginning of advent
  • Ditching transportation and instead walking to the service there and back (50 minutes each way)
  • A loooong afternoon nap (2 hours!)
  • Catching up on the telephone with a friend
  • Simple meals including roast chicken with spinach, apple & cranberry salad
  • An evening spent enjoying a carol service, singing to my heart’s content
  • Followed by a stroll through the park, hot chocolate in tow and arriving home to read fabulous books this dear friend sent, just because.

Really, I am truly very blessed, family woes and all :)

I hope your Sunday was wonderful!
