When It Rains…

lakes

You still have to try to find some sunshine. I’m not sure if I’m doing as good a job as I should at the moment, I felt like my swine flu was well & truly on it’s way out last night (albeit I’m still terribly congested), had a good solid 5 hrs sleep without waking from coughing and was so looking forward to life returning to normal within the next few days…then this am I had a very bad cyst burst. It is still excruciating although I’m home, and trying to rest, switching from hot water bottle to icepack, from fetal position to using a birthing ball, doing lots of deep breathing and sadly being sick – I think just from the actual pain. I’ve been told it will take three – five days to recover. Honestly I’d take swine flu over this any day.

But through the being sick and deep breathing and rocking and heat/ice rotations I will remember and hope and pray because I have so much to feel thankful for! So much. I have a room I let in a nice house, I have some good friends, I have a parent who is healthy & alive, I have food, I have a kitty snuggled on my lap, I have faith and hope. Neither can ever be taken away, which means I have everything I need!

Thanks to Pebbledash who sent me this prayer:

A Pueblo Indian Prayer

Hold on to what is good,

Even if it’s a handful of earth.

Hold on to what you believe,

Even if it’s a tree that stands by itself.

Hold on to what you must do,

Even if it’s a long way from here.

Hold on to your life,

Even if it’s easier to let go.

Hold on to my hand,

Even if I’ve gone away from you

A big thanks for the lovely comments on the last post & personal emails. If anyone knows a miracle cure for cysts, please share.

The next post should be all about how I’ve taught my flatmate my no spending system and how for the first time in her adult life, she’s now been able to save every single month!

I’m so sorry you have to be dealing with all of this right now, but I’m always in awe of how well you handle your life, even when things don’t go according to plan. I don’t know much about miracle cyst cures other than some inconclusive bits on diet and so on, but I hope you can take it easy, get some more rest, and feel better soon.

that is a beautiful poem. Thanks for sharing that. I am so sorry you are so ill. There must be some sort of miracle cure out there. I hope it finds you.

You poor thing, rest and relax. Where I am the rain is coming down and all I want to do is sit home and relax with a cup of tea.

Unfortunately I can’t but I hope you can, take care x

  9. lcg says:

Um…won’t your doc prescribe some nice narcotics for you? I’ve had a few cysts and lots of kidney stones and a few days of narcotics made it all bearable. Hope you’re back to feeling better soon!!!

  10. So brave ..sending hugs to you!

  11. Anny says:

Thank you for sharing the prayer, I hope things look up soon

  12. Angela says:

Hope you feel a bit better by the time you read this. I’m looking forward to your next post. Perhaps you could market yourself as a ‘thrift coach’ – I’ve seen others describe themselves as a ‘money coach’ but thrift coach seems so apt for what you do!
