Ten Days Towards Health * Edited to add*

food-007

Tomorrow I’m going to start 10 days towards health project!

I’ll be blogging exactly what I eat & how much exercise I do with pictures of course!

The point of it is to make sure I’m treating my body kindly, getting my fruit & veg intake (as well as that thing called protein) and getting my rear moving!  I’ll also be focused on getting 1 thing done each day on my list of things to do!  The point is to make sure my body & mind are as clean & uncluttered as possible.

Now, does anyone care to join me?

How about Sarah, Moving to Portugal & A Piece of Wood?? Amelia? Anyone else?

This project will begin Saturday April 25th and finish Monday May 4th.

* Edited to add:

Money Funk

Healthy Amelia (don’t you just love that name)

  1. The plate looks delicious! Much better than the blueberry scone and green tea I am drinking… well, the scone anyway. I think that is a great project.

I will mentally do the project with you. The exercise part will be hard, cuz its so hard to get my rear off this corporate chair to walk our beautiful campus (like the japanese garden). But, I will do it. My tennis shoes are at my desk. Can’t wait to see your updates and photos!

BTW, I posted great pics of Yosemite today.

  2. Wow, what a challenge! I like the manageable time frame of 10 days. But I’m not so great at taking photos of my food and they certainly wouldn’t be as pretty as yours, FT! I guess it’s worth a shot… I will do my best to report on what I eat and my workouts.

  3. Sarah says:

I wouldn’t want to blog my food intake! Being.. ahem… a larger lady I eat more – even when on diet rations lol.

  4. Annie says:

What the heck! I’ll join in. Ten days is a good start (and I just bought myself a yoga mat!). I definitely need to start somewhere and this is a good motivator, particularly as we have to check in…

  5. Oh no, i got named! Yes I’ll join, it might be what I need.
Good job the work night out curry was last night ;)

  6. mo says:

(thinks hard) OK yeah! go on then! Not sure how great I will be at the photo part. But I will join in on the logging what I eat and making sure I eat well. And being accountable is what my blog is (all / partly) about! Ten days. Starting tomorrow. I will avoid cake in the park for 10 days! that is My main ‘vice’! I will get back to my lunch time meditation / relaxation CD. As for exercise…..

Annie, Mo, Laura, Amelia, Money Funk I can’t wait to read your posts!!!

Get your cameras & menu plans ready! Tomorrow is the day!

  8. Jessica says:

That orzo pasta looks great! :)

  9. anostrichnamedsam says:

What plan are you following, if any? Sounds intriguing! Can’t wait for the follow ups!

  10. Frugal Trenches says:

Ostrich – I follow no plan but that of eating healthy and moving my behind!

  11. Jennie says:

I’m tempted…tempted…I’ll think about it! I need someone to come and take away all of my extra Easter chocolate that has accumulated!

  12. I’m in if you’re looking for another! I’ve been hoping to use some of my tasty new recipes. I can certainly keep track for 10 days.
Also, what is this I read of a London meet up?

  13. Kylee says:

I’m in! I need the ‘support’ and ‘accountability’ to get going. FT- I have long admired your determination and willpower.

I am a vegetarian, but not a very healthy one.

I don’t have a blog, so I will just add my comments to the end of your posts.

Also, I am reading this late Saturday afternoon, so will start tonight and finish a day after you. Sound fair?

Hmm. No chocolate for 10 days. I should probably cut out the diet coke too. I have been trying to cut down on the evil stuff, I think cold turkey is the way to go. Especially as its heading into winter here (Australia) (ie more likely to go for hot drinks).

  14. I’ve started! Complete with nutritional facts and costings. Obviously I’ll have to estimate at times and I can’t find my camera adapter, so I’ll get the pics up asap. I think I’ll try to get them into one daily post as posting after each meal might get a bit tiresome (and impractical!). http://pennypence.blogspot.com/2009/04/health-challenge-day-1.html

I love the combination of focusing on food, movement, AND something from the to-do list each day! Since I’ve been thinking about the food and exercise lately, my to-do list needs some attention. And I agree with Annie and Amelia that ten days is both a good start and manageable. I’ll follow along.

  21. Sally Mae says:

I am definitely in. I’ll be starting tomorrow, Sunday – it is my 27th birthday, and I think a great way to start out a new year in my life! Thanks for the awesome idea!!!
