Walking along the beach, I realized I am struggling to:
- get back to healthy eating after a weekend that included cake AND a chocolate bar, or two ;0)
- build the confidence to put into place a big decision I made about work.
- feel well rested, alert & ready to tackle the 1000 things to do on my to do list!
- remember that this season of constant sickness, tiredness, hormone therapy morning, noon & night will pass.
Any encouraging words? thoughts? I sure could use them!
So instead, I’ll leave you with pictures of Edinburgh. I rarely post in real time, holiday or short break photographs seem to turn up a minimum of 3 months after the fact. I figure, it helps make me & this blog quirky. You got these relatively quickly, the main holiday of 2008 may turn up summer 2009! Work with me.
And tomorrow, I will get up, shake myself, either go for a walk along the seafront or go swimming, go to my next medical appointment, hit the gym, eat healthy and rest. And I’ll no longer struggle to believe, build, feel, remember and be, right?
Yes, yes, you want Edinburgh so Edinburgh is what you blog readers shall get.

Do you wonder if those phone booths were there in “castle times”? Ha!

View over Edinburgh from the castle.

Wouldn’t you love this fireplace?

The city is filled with beautiful shops and streets.

Even the library is beautiful.

Another beautiful street.

You will see many Harry Potter references and hear American tourists saying “look Harry Potter”

I could stare at this picture for hours, it sums up so many emotions for me – feelings about the wonderful country in which I live, love, journeys, soulmates. I could go on, but I’ll stop.

I wonder what emotion having a bird poop on you while site seeing stirs up?

Happening on a bread making school & hoping, praying and wishing I will be able to go back to Edinburgh and take classes!

Happening across lovely parks.

And shops with fabulous names!

Finding sweets, treats, chocolates and happiness in a little truffle or two!
\
And then you drive away from Edinburgh and enjoy the Scottish sea.
And thanks to Lisa you can make this photo into an older version!

And then I took a photo of a Church in Edinburgh, and made it into:

This may become an obsession, just warning you.

Back to Edinburgh – boats make everyone feel better.

And then finish your weekend off with a trip to Loopy Lorna’s! It will remind you of tearooms in NYC!
And now I’m off to bed after an evening of being sick (I took my hormones too late in the day, so the typical morning sickness became evening sickness – no better I assure you!). But this blog took my mind off all things not so nice. I’ll catch up on all you lovelies tomorrow!
On a side note, does anyone who reads this blog know about statuatory sick pay? If you do, could I possibly email you to ask some questions?

I, too, searched for a long time for health cures for a chronic condition. The chronic condition is still with me, my life is simple, full of love and better in so many ways because I gave up on what should be but accepted what is. I do what I love, modifying it to accommodate my limitations and breath deeply when my condition conflicts with what I want to do. I love my life.
You can do this. Keep breathing and walking one step in front of the other. Take your meds at the right time. Learn to read your body. Pay attention to the doctors, but you are the one who knows your body best.
I am in the US and know our federal disability pay system, but not yours. Go after it if you can, it is really helpful.
Keep breathing and loving.

Love, Love, LOVE the pictures!!! I want to go visit Scotland soon! Very pretty
Hope you feel better soon… it breaks my heart to read about your morning/evening sickness. You must be taking really potent medication
I’m sending good vibes for you this week…
(and I thought I had your email address but I don’t… can you send me an email at canadiansaver@hotmail.com and I’ll send you a link to the article I mentioned in my blog please?)
I love these photos so much. I want to go back sooner than later. *sigh*
As for other stuff, will a *hug* do?
I’ve always been very sensitive to taking hormones of any kind…could never take birth control pills. About fifteen years ago I had to begin taking progesterone for issues probably related to PCOS. I had bad reactions to several prescriptions before we finally found one that I could tolerate. Is there a chance that they might be able to alter what you are having to take?
The photos are absolutely lovely.
I hope you feel better soon.
J’adore! and I mean adore the picture of the rainy street. Cobblestone roads are so romantic. I completely feel you on that. Feel better soon and here’s praying for a positive pregnancy test on Wednesday – but more importantly God’s will in my life.
P.S. Your husband – whomever that is will love you more than you can imagine. Keep praying for him.
Dear FT, long time reader, first time commenter. Love your blog, adore those photos of Scotland (never been, love to go!), wish you all the best for health, work and lovelife!
Huggles (as my sis in law calls them) all the way from Adelaide, South Australia
Cheers

Hi there-What gorgeous pictures, they really do lift the spirits. I wish you happy thoughts my dear and I hope you feel better soon too, take care.
Great photos – making me homesick (even though I’m a west coaster!). How did you make the new photos “old”? It’s a great effect.
Such wonderful pictures, the fireplace is to die for!!! think I get that in my tiny house?
Love the picture of Harry Potter, major fan here.
As to the meet, we live up north Notes, not sure where you having it but might be a bit far away for us. pitty thou.
The pictures are absolutely stunning! I don´t have plans for the holidays yet .. The only problem is that my husband loves the south.
sending happy, chirpy, jolly vibes your way!
I guess we all have days of wondering, longing, scrutinising (I know I am at the moment!) and sometimes it’s good just to roll with it, let out a really long sigh, snuggle up with a book and rest …
BUT – I hope that when you wake up the sun is shining and you feel filled with renewed confidence to stride forward!
What gorgeous pictures!
I know a little about SSP, so give me an email and I’ll see if I can help!
Hope you are feeling as right as rain soon x
Loved the photos! I wil send a link to my daughter, who did a study abroad in the British Isles in the mid nineties. She loved Edinburgh above all the other wonderful places she visited!
Take care. You are a beautiful woman!
The two red phone booths are so lovely.
Hope you start feeling better soon.
Wow, I love the photos!
PS I think it’s good luck to have a bird poop on you…
Ah, what an awesome time! The photos are beautiful (minus 1). I can’t wait to say that one day I have been to this place. Amazing!
The man — he loves you without a doubt.
Your body — will be feeling better soon.
The photos — absolutely beautiful. Many old things still in existence that in the US we would catalog on the “National Historic Register.”
Glad you had a good weekend.
Hi, I have been feeling for you since I read your post yesterday but haven’t had time to answer. I can’t help you with most things – I only had very mild sickness with my children – but I may be able to help you with the guy thing. Try to forget all about what you like about him for half an hour and write out a list of at least ten things you would require in a hubby – things you are not willing to forego in a marriage. Because I have been in a bad relationship for 19 years I know what I want. Mr Perfect does not exist and we might have to give up one or two things but no more than that or you will not have a happy future. Do you know if this lovely man fits that bill? If he doesn’t really (and hope you haven’t cheated because it would only hurt you!) then let him go however hard it may be. If he fits most and especially the really important things then it is better to have loved and lost then never have loved at all. This is your romance novel. Enjoy it and don’t cheat (like I used to do when reading) by looking at the ending. It will spoil the fun. All the best. Also remember the Apostle Pauls guideline that “you will have tribulation in the flesh” if you marry. Worth really thinking about. Thinking of you. Cherrie
What lovely photos
Okay, maybe not the bird poo one…hehe
Hope you’re feeling soon xxx
Feel free to e mail me about the SSP.

My grandma was born in Glasgow and came to Canada when she was 12 with her family. She went back many, many times and your pictures bring back so many memories of Grandma’s pictures and stories. Thank you. Blessings, Heather
Beautiful photos. I’ll get to visit overseas so thanks for sharing your vacation.
Thank you for your blog. I happened upon it today and have put it in “My Favorites” to continue enjoying and being inspired by it. I especially enjoyed the Edinburgh photos which gave me the feeling of a mini-vacation on a gray day. Times are tough at my house financially but I am choosing to work to be strong, positive, enthusiastic, determined, etc. As usual, I have to motivate myself, waiting for family doesn’t work. I am doing something delightful today. I am going to my friend Gillian’s house for tea and talk and we will be silly and serious and then I will come home to tackle some things I wish my husband would take care of. He relies on me to sort things out so I might as well stop procrastinating and get busy. I have my eyes and ears open for Springtime and am awaiting it eagerly. My best to you and thanks again for your blog and sharing. Teresa
