A simple, relaxed kind of day.

I thought I’d invite you to share a day with me, I hope these pictures relax you and let you into my world.

sid-021

The day started with a walk along the Sidmouth seafront!

sid-020

Can you see the thatched house at the top of the cliff?

sid-0161

The odd boat littered along the pebbles.

sid-017

Just look at those rocks!

sid-019

And old forts to defend your country!

Home again to…

today-005

make some chili!

today-008

A bowl of chili, 1/2 a grilled cheese sandwich with beets & honey mustard, carrot sticks and pickled onions. Sadly it didn’t stay down.

today-0131

Followed by a good clean of the car!

And now, an evening of knitting

today-016

And of course updating this blog!

How hard it will be to go back to work, yes for those that asked I’m still at home, Dr will not let me go back until my test results fall within normal range. So I’m taking medications, lots of them, eating healthy meals, trying to rest and deal the best I can with some pretty awful side effects that pretty much last from about 2am to 11am. Not nice. But, really I can’t complain, not when I can enjoy a walk along the sea and knit, even if I have to take frequent breaks – it’s like morning sickness that lasts all day and of course doesn’t result in a baby! ;0)

I promised awards in yesterday’s post, only I can’t get them to paste. They are coming, I promise!

Finally, does anyone have  a copy of the book Three Cups of Tea I could borrow? I can’t get it from the library and need it for my book club!

Those are beautiful pictures ~ it looks like you had a lovely day to walk around, but sorry to hear that you still are not feeling well. Our bodies are strange and precarious things.

    Hello
You are so close to where I live, it’s almost weird! I hope that your reflection time is helping you to heal. By the way, did you stop for a slice of the HUGE cakes they do in the cafe at the top of the cliff at Sidmouth?
    Keep getting better,
    Best xxx

  3. Those pics look so serene.

What a lovely place to just be in and allow your body to relax and heal.

I’m sorry the food didn’t stay down but if there are any sceneries that can soothe the soul that is one of them!

    How lovely :)

I’ve been enjoying your postings lately. And am happy to see that you’re catching on to the knitting.
I didn’t know if you mentioned what kind of ailment you have? (I’m a curious nurse) Feel better and thanks again for your lovely blog.

Gorgeous, gorgeous photos! The boat on the pebbles…love it especially.

Praying for you to feel better. I’m trying to get meds regulated too, however I feel great. They just won’t let me drive for a couple of more weeks or go back to work till ???

Love the boat. Looks so peaceful.

Hope your medicines start working soon so you can get back to “normal” life.

My knitting looks like crap compared to yours – maybe it’s the yarn I’m using.. will take a picture to post as well. Plus I now have a big hole :(

  12. Money Funk says:

Funny you should mention Three Cups of Tea cuz I just saw that in my magazine. You will have to let me know if it is a good read!

Your knitting looks fabulous…same with the chili and grilled cheese…and the awesome walks. Must be nice to be getting that wonderful time to do such beautiful things. Although I am very sorry to hear about the side effects of the medicine. I do wish you to get well quickly! :)

  13. Kathryn says:

Stunning! We should all have a field trip to where you live!! I remember you said you haven’t always lived there, did you move there for the scenery?

  14. Kathryn says:

Sorry if that is personal, I guess your pictures made me think about deciding where we live vs. just living where we currently do!

Hope you’re slowly slowly feeling better. Beautiful scenery, the sea and the pebbles, and a spot of knitting all help to lift the spirits. I have a brand new, yet-to-read copy of Three Cups of Tea…email me your address and I’ll post, you’re welcome to read it first.

Hi – if you’re ever looking for a book (or audio book on tape/CD) and are not too fussed about it being a brand new copy try http://www.GreenMetropolis.com for recycled/second hand books.

    http://www.greenmetropolis.com/search.asp?book_title=three+cups+of+tea&author_name=&author_first_name=&ISBN=&categories=&Format=All&scope=InStock&Results=1&search.x=0&search.y=0

All standard paperbacks cost £3.75 to buy, (hardbacks tend to costs more for the extra postage involved). After you’ve finished with it, you can always re-list it back on that website and get £3 back for it.

The majority of books are uploaded from individuals’ own book collections so you might not see what you want when you search and bear in mind the condition of each title as listed. You can always use the Wish List feature and get an e-mail if and when the title you’re after is put up on the site. You’ll see that study textbooks appear at the start/end of the academic year as people look out for set books on their list.

And, with every transaction a donation is made to The Woodland Trust – what more is there to like?

(Can you tell, I’m a fan?)

    Best wishes, Lynn
