There is nothing like having to be in bed, to make you stop, reflect, ponder and just be. After almost three days of this, I’m pretty ready to face the world again, albeit gently.
Here are 4 still photographs to catch me up on the photo a day in February challenge and explain what I’ve been up to.

Watching the snow…
Snuggling with the cat.

And on day 3, when I was ready to tackle something more than cuddling and watching, I began to knit. I’m about 12 rows in now and it is going well. I will do a proper knitting experience post at some point. It is simply a joy to make something, it makes a calmness come over my body, a feeling that all is right in the world, that all will be right in my world, that my journey of making, creating, believing, birthing and being is well under way. On a less serious note, my nails are never this short, I had a reaction to something I put on them and had to cut them oh so short!
And the final photo for today. Comes courtesy of Dancing On A Blade Of Grass.

Enjoying a book I won in her giveaway (all about food!) and a beautiful washcloth she knitted.
To be still is good. To appreciate it even better. Thank you for all your lovely comments and emails, sorry I haven’t responded to them yet, I will. For now I’m hanging onto a bit of stillness and loving it. To spend several days resting, reading, listening (see below), praying and reflecting. Well, I recommend it. It is good for your heart and soul, even if you’re in a bit a lot of pain.

KNITTING!???? You’re knitting! Well done you!
I am impressed xxxx
Having spent the past month on the sofa unable to do very much at all, I’ve had plenty of time for reflection and yes, it is good for us as long as we don’t dwell too much.
Everybody should take the time to just be still and connect with themselves but sadly our society doesn’t make that easy anymore.
glad to hear you are starting to feel better. I wish I could knit, several people have attempted to teach me over the years but I just can’t do it???
Seen the Dixie Chicks in concert twice now, big fans of theirs. No idea what they are up to now though? Do you?

I really love that song, what a beautiful choice for recovery. I hope that you are feeling better soon. That knitting looks pretty good so far!
Hope you are feeling better. staying in bed can be good for you so hope your batteries are recharged.
Hmm, glad you find knitting relaxing it tends to bring out my aggressive side and my stitches get so tight I can’t push my needle through!
lovely FT i’ve just got caught up with you. what a gorgeous post that last one was, and i hope that you are feeling better soon . (((FT)))))
It is good to be still. I keep avoiding it, but I know i have to do it, and today I nearly passed out at physio, so here I am. Being still.
I don’t often get down to Devon, but I will be coming to scatter my husband’s ashes one day. In the sea off Plymouth. Once the hospital drama is over. Soon I hope.
I would love to hear more about your knitting:) I crochet and I also find this relaxing. I love making something special for myself or someone.
My nails also look terriable but I think it is the lotion that I have been using…I think I could be allergic?

Sharon – I hope you feel better soon!

Renee – I’ll do a proper post about knitting soon! Yes, I had a reaction to something and it literally tore my nails!
Hi there-so pleased you are having some quality ‘me’ time. Take care and have a nice week.
Snuggling with a cat always makes me stop and enjoy the little things. It’s good for the soul!
Crochet is my knitting…and it makes me relax so well, and it is productive to boot! So not only are you relaxed but you have something new handmade.
aww i didn’t know you had a cat, what’s his/her name?
lovely snow photo too
very… atmospheric?
I’m not sure if I knit correctly… my hand always hurt. I’m just beginning so maybe that’s why.
Hi,
Glad to see you knitting. I love knitting, it absolutely calms me…you know they say that knitting is like yoga. I guess it’s from the repetition and stillness it brings. I knit and practice yoga…you’d think I’d be the calmest person on the block!! HA

Presume your on sick leave. When you going back to work?
I just wanted to say that I love your blog. I just came back after about a month of not reading it, and I, for one, love to read about what you eat.
I really enjoyed the turnip post.
I’m glad you’re making your way through it.
As a side note – you kitty is precious!

What a fab blog, I’ll definitely be back! Glad you are feeling better. Your diet is really interesting and healthy. Your posts remind me so much of good karma – you started giving and your life is getting better as a result!

YEAH!!!! Seeeeeeee, I knew you could conquer the knitting thing!!!! Saying that, once you really get going you will be a knitting queen
I also find that when I’ve had a bad week my knitting needles are great friends for working out anxiety. I hope you are feeling better … have been sending good thoughts your way.
