I’m tired, both mentally and physically. It has been a long work week, this weekend I move out of my flat and next week I have to travel to another country for work, once I return I have a new work schedule which will take some adjusting. On top of all that, I can feel my body telling me to stop, relax, exercise, eat right, drink more water and de-stress. Trying not to fall of the ladder last night I spent 10 minutes making a list of reasonable and achievable goals for the weekend to help me get what I need to done but also to give my body the break it so desperately needs. They are:
Finish packing all boxes (finish sounds a lot better then start and finish which is actually the truth!)
De-clutter – don’t pack anything that isn’t needed or exceptionally loved – I’ve already done this with my clothes
Clean my flat to ensure I get the full deposit back (I won’t mention the terrible state it was in when I moved in!)
Take my vitamins (calcium and B complex) Saturday and Sunday (I keep forgetting!)
Pack a bag for my trip
Telephone 2 contacts who have rooms available to rent
Do a 1.5 hour speed walk through a park Saturday (specifically a park as I feel so much better when surrounded by nature!)
Do a 1.5 hour speed walk through a park Sunday
Drink 8 glasses of water Saturday
Drink 8 glasses of water Sunday
Return my library books
Get a final meter reading
Telephone my water company
Eat 3 fruit & 3 veg Saturday
Eat 3 fruit & 3 veg Sunday
Return 5 emails Saturday and 5 emails Sunday
Update my blogroll to include all the new wonderful readers of this blog
Go to mass on Sunday (I always feel much better after singing hymns!)
Show the flat to the new renters Saturday
Take any books I don’t need to a charity shop or the Dr’s surgery to donate
Move
So there you have it, the goals. Somehow writing them down makes it seem possible. I know the exercise, food and water give me energy so making sure I complete them will help ensure I can get the move completed. I’ll update you on how I’m doing. I can’t wait to get everything accomplished!!!
A big welcome to everyone who came to this blog because it was featured in an Australian newspaper and via the Simple Green Frugal Co-op

I didn’t know you’d be moving. Do you not have anywhere definite to go then, being as you need to contact friends about rooms to rent? I so hope everything goes well for you, even though that looks like a long list to me (but then moving always involved so much to do – I’ve moved 18 times so I know all about that).
lol 18 times Sharon, I’m starting to catch up unfortunately!!
I have somewhere for short term, as in next week!!! My days/where I work is changing too so I’m trying to get all the info I need from them before committing ££!!
Will you have time to come and wash my car too??
Only joking obviously, that’s sure a lot to do. Hope it all goes well x
LOL Laura I love washing cars!!!
good luck with the weekend goals! just having a written list always seems to spur me on. working your way through that lot is bound to make you feel happier and glowing.
Have just found your blog and love it. We, as in my house hold, were just talking about what you are doing and how we can do it, then we found your blog. We have done it in New Zealand where I grew up, so moving it to the UK now. As to your weekend ahead of you, well, I can’t come and help you pack or move (having moved 13 times in 13 years!!), will send you thoughts of energy and calmness, oh yea, and a pillow to beat up.
ps. going to add you to my blog hope that ok.
Wow! I am exhausted just reading your list! Good luck for the weekend and I hope all goes well. My daughter and I have been half heartedly following your trail but reading your blog has given us two Kiwi girls the inspiration to put more effort in. Energising thoughts heading your way.
and don’t forget the water
Hope all goes well with the move, Frugal.
When you’ve cleaned your flat and are about to leave it, it may be worth taking some photos to ensure the return of that deposit.
Donna, thank you! I too find a list exceptionally helpful, the guilt spurs me on
Fiona

Hi there-very best of luck with reaching your goals, you’re very determined and focused so I can’t see there would be a problem!!

That’s quite a to-do list. I always find I’m productive when I have a long list of things to get done. I can usually get them all finished in one day and then relax and enjoy the next.
Good luck getting them all crossed off.
That sounds like a busy and productive weekend schedule. I love making lists. I find it so helpful to get everything down on paper instead of leaving everything rattling around in my head. I use envelopes from junk mail and write out everything I want to get done, then cross them off as I go. I find that once I’ve written down my goals for the day, I no longer worry about them, and I’m able to focus much better. Have a wonderful weekend!
thanks for the welcome! i already love your blog … it’s very inspiring. best of luck with the move! and on keeping well!
