Signs you’ve simplified and mentally downshifted

When you are offered a job promotion which will increase your take home pay by £350 a month you:

Instantly want to find moments/time to quietly reflect and decide how this fits in with your life

Think about how this will impact on your important making crafts/learning new skills goals, instead of concentrating on the financial aspects of the offer

Reflect on your current work life balance and contemplate whether this new promotion will help or hinder

Make a list of all the things in life that are so oh so much more important than money

Have no interest in displaying your juggling skills long term!

On another note, I’ve just posted one of your favourite posts, and mine too, on Simple Green Frugal Co-op

    Hi there-It sounds like you’ve answered your own question already!! Seriously though, it is good you have the choice and I hope you take the path that is right for you. Have a great weekend my dear!

    yes, juggling is highly overated!
    I love the green co-op blog by the way, some lovely posts there.

  4. Recently, I went from a 5 day week to a 4 day week due to a number of the same reasons written above. I wanted to live life more and I knew the difference in pay could be made up in other ways. Just before I switched I:

    * got a pay rise
    * went frugal
    * stopped unnecessary expenses

    Oh, and we just got a tax cut to (here in New Zealand).

    So overall, I’m not actually any worse off though I feel much happier, healthier and environmentally responsible with my new frugal lifestyle.

    It’s awesome.

    LOl the trouble with juggling is that you always end up dropping something – or everything!

    I have to say I agree with Sharie, but once again a great post.
