So, with July’s goals accomplished I’ve now set to figure out what I want/need to accomplish in August! Today, I’ve kind of fallen off the bandwagon re healthy eating as I’ve had a small bag of M&M’s and popcorn – yikes! But I’ll make sure I still get my 5 a day!
So, here are my goals for the month of August!
1. To spend no more than £80 = $160 on groceries, there are 5 shopping weeks in August (I do my shop on Fridays or Saturdays) so I’m going to have to work very hard to stick to this!
2. To continue to make sure I get 5 fruits & veg a day!
3. To contribute £1000 to my emergency fund. Approximately £600 of this will be from my take home pay, the other £400 will be from extra work I did before being ill. I should be paid for this by the end of August.
4. To write to the tax office as I’ve just realized I paid too much tax in 2005!
5. To fill out the forms to transfer the pension from my job 2005-2007 into my new pension which begins September!
6. To move the two bills that were paid by my credit card, to my debit card so that I am no longer using my credit card!
7. To arrange my things in storage to be delivered to a family members house (who is very kindly going to store them for free!) – this will save me £48 a month!!!
8. To cancel my mobile/cell phone – I have decided as part of my new downshifting/simple life it’s something I simply don’t need. The bill at a minimum is £22 a month although occasionally goes up to £38 (I’ve also had a problem getting itemized bills and to me, the less I use it the more it costs).
So cancelling my phone and storage will save me about £78 a month = £936/$1872 a year!!
9. Twenty no spend days!

Blimey, you sound really determined. Go for it, girl
