Daily Tracking & Catchup with Groceries!

Sorry I’ve been MIA, someone in my office was off sick, so I ended up on a business trip Tues-Thurs! I wanted to say thank you for all the sweet comments that have been left on past posts as people find this blog! I’m glad you enjoy my writing, I’m really enjoying writing this blog and find it keeps me motivated!

So, here’s a catch up of where I’ve been spending, or not as the case may be ;0

July 23rd – Spending £4.50 on medication, £13 I owed a friend from when my card was stolen!

July 24th – No Spending 17/18 days (almost @ my goal!)

July 25th – Spending £4.95 on a dinner out with friends to celebrate Birthdays! We each paid for our own and I had a small but wonderful vegan salad – chickpeas, vine leaves, hummus!

July 26th – Spending on groceries for the week! This week I officially decided I will no longer support supermarkets, so did a lot of research and found a small totally organic family run business about a mile from where I live and bought the following (all organic):

  • 1 pack of tomatoes on the vine
  • 1 bag of mixed lettuce
  • 1 large pepper
  • 1 garlic
  • 1 large bag of grapes
  • 5 large carrots
  • 1 container of avocado hummus
  • 1 large sweet potato
  • 1 tin of chickpeas
  • 1 container of blueberries
  • 1 large bag of puy lentils
  • 1 large soya yogurt
  • 1 box of falafel balls
  • 1 broccoli
  • 1 mango
  • 2 pear purees
  • 6 whole wheat pitta bread

Total Cost: £15.19

Today should be a no spending day which will take me to my goal of 18/18! I also plan to make Monday and Tuesday no spending days, so I’m hoping to reach 20/18!!

  1. I’ve noticed you don’t buy any meat perhaps you could post some of your receipes, I’m always looking for new ideas.

  2. I wish I had a family-run place like that too! I’m all for supporting local agriculture, but it’s a bit hard in my area to get a bit of everything… I shop mostly at a Co-op grocery store so I don’t feel as bad.

Your list looks great, lots of good stuff!

How wonderful to have a family owned market so close to your home. I can imagine walking or a riding a bike there. We have so few family owned enterprises in the USA. Everything is on such a large scale. We do have farmer’s market at the mall several days each week in the summer. So enjoy that market!
