I’ve always wanted to stick by the principle of making sure I make an extra meal when I make dinner, often I would start with good intentions, but then when I’d bring the dishes back into the kitchen and pick at the extra dinner in the pot/pan etc. Not good for the wallet or waist line!
Solution: When I dish up my meal onto my plate, I also divide the remains into 2 tupperware containers straight away, before I sit down to eat…meaning I get 3 meals, no picking @ leftovers and save a lot of money!
Yup, it works for me!

This is a great idea. My wife often cooks more than we need for our family of 8 to eat a meal with the intention of saving some for later. We sometimes end up short the whole second meal. If we follow your plan and separate the meals before we take them to the table we might do better. Thanks for the tip.
