Sometimes you have to spend to earn….!

As I begin to tweak and make changes to the budget ready for the beginning of serious savings, I’ve made some changes. As you probably remember from my budget page, I had originally thought I would forgo the internet, saving myself £15 pounds a month. It made sense for the next 6 months paying higher rent, to pinch the pennies as much as possible, after all I have the internet at work and there were ample internet cafe’s locally. Then I began to add up the extra costs of using the internet cafe and started to see that if I was using it 3 days a week to do the freelance work that I couldn’t do on my office computer due to conflict of interest, then I’d risk potentially spending the same cost of having internet in the home. I contemplated the reality of watching the clock while trying to earn money on the net.  The more I looked at ways to earn extra money by doing online surveys, changing my accounts to get higher rates of interest, doing some online based admin work for a contact I have, the more sense it made to spend the £15 a month and get earning!

Yes, I’ve learned sometimes you have to spend (wisely!) to earn!

Oooh thank you no more spending, I’ll check it out!

  4. I’d rather give up my TV than my internet. But unfortunatly in the UK you have to pay the TV tax whether you watch it or not.

No more spending, btw Google has a fantastic spell check I’d be lost without it
